It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990
Model S Plaid $89,990

I have a question. What happens 3 or 4 years down the line when the battery health is down like the phones we use. Do you pay to get the batteries replaced or is there some kind of coverage? Been wanting to get an EV but holding myself back thinking what happens next.
This is a common misconception. EV batteries don't degrade like phone batteries.

Model S data shows 12% average degradation after 200,000 miles.

All these "fastest car ever" and "OMG 0-60" honks crack me up. It's like listening to 10 year old boys talk cars.
Got a MYP and I don't think I would get a car slower than this in the future. It's fun AF.

model x has been unchanged since what 2015? i know they did some refresh but its same vehicle.
it looks dated compared to the Y and especially refreshed 3.
if you are rich 100K and now $80K is nothing for model x, but those who strategically save then splurge and have been waiting for an X, i feel tesla is going to release an entirely new model, the vehicle looks dated already

Interesting how Elon has taken on the apple model where the early adopters subsidize the new customers. Back when Jobs ran fhe company. Something apple seems to have forgotten and has basically driven the entire smartphone mark up price wise.

Dumb take. Most OTA fix without having to go to the dealer and wait.

Stuff is fixed while you sleep.

So many ignorant people about EVs.
Username checks out, you've 69'd Elon in your dreams.

I really wanted it to take off because I bought a lot of polestar stock, but it's overpriced and they can't compete with these price wars. I hate to admit it, but tesla is destroying the other companies

Electric cars aren't for everyone.

Has the U.S. electric car market currently become saturated?

Is Tesla cutting prices because there's actually competition now?

These are legit questions.

I've always been intrigued by the performance aspects of Electrics, but other than the looks of the model S no other Tesla models have ever appealed to me.

I still believe that the power and charging infrastructure, and the current EV battery chemistries aren't even close to mass adoption levels yet. Will all these things eventually happen? Probably.

When will Mass adoption happen? Who knows.

Prices, better battery chemistry, and infrastructure are the only things holding E.V.'s back from taking over, But I think we're still a long way from that happening, and I think these price cuts, and other manufacturers electrics reportedly starting to rot on dealer lots, are a good indication that Electrics aren't quite ready for the mainstream.
Musk and Tesla have spoken about this. It's a move towards volume sales and accessing the $7.5k rebate at the cost of their margin, it's also to help move inventory so Tesla can keep tighter inventory controls while the macroeconomic environment is so shitty. Tesla's moat is also shrinking because of increased competition, they've cut pricing in their other major markets as well, including China.

I'd rather buy 2 Sienna Hybrids.
