It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990
Model S Plaid $89,990

You laugh but he is correct. The model S Plaid is one of the fastest production cars made so far. Can you name another sedan under $100K that do 0-60 in 2 seconds?
Closest ICE car I can even think is 2023 Porsche Taycan Turbo S
2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo S
Price: $187,400
0- 60: 2.6 seconds

I have Model 3 Performance and can tell you for sure the instant power is hard to beat. Its a huge achievement of automotive engineering for sure.

100% for every day driving the 0-60 is all that really matters — I've never taken any car to a speedway I've slammed the gas for 8 second 0-60 multiple times every single day. If I had the money this would be a no brainier

If you're browsing SD for deals you probably shouldn't be spending $75k+ on a vehicle. You're welcome.
More expensive things have been posted before. Let me dream that I could afford it now that it's $18k less even though it's still out of my budget range by about $50k.

Glad I got my Plaid on release. $18k price drop in a day?! That's not their typical grand or two drop that stings but is easy to get over. I don't know how I'd handle this if I'd have picked one up recently
I picked up mine 8 months ago.. I don't know how to handle it either 😭

Jesus Christ what is all this bullshit? Its the fastest car made YOU CAN BUY (and under $100k to boot). Just try to get one of those craft vehicles people are bringing up that are a tiny fraction faster - THEY WONT SELL IT TO YOU. You have to be a prince or oligarch even if you have the millions...

Now you're categorizing.
Is it the fastest car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production sedan under $100k from the Factory? Possibly if you don't count the Demon 170 which is a coupe.

Also what you classify as fast isn't the same thing as I do. 0-60 doesn't mean fast to me, it's quick. Quick to get up to speed. Fast is something that can do a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, or top speed. I don't disagree that instant power is great, I was just pointing out the stupidness of saying it was "the fastest car ever made." I've got an Audi S4 that gets 3.2 0-60's with just a simple OTS tune, they just don't come that way from the factory.
If you read this post in Dwight's voice it's perfect.

It's a bummer that even a single option on the X puts it over the threshold for the $7500 tax credit. Changing the interior color ends up costing $10k.

Not worth it. Wait and watch. It will fall further, as more EVs become available. I am still not sold on EVs. Maybe Toyota has the right approach. Currently Hybrid technology makes sense, with fuel cell in the pipeline.

I have a question. What happens 3 or 4 years down the line when the battery health is down like the phones we use. Do you pay to get the batteries replaced or is there some kind of coverage? Been wanting to get an EV but holding myself back thinking what happens next.
Historical charts indicate that they lose about 10% over 10 years. So yes, a little less range, but still a very competent car

75,000 is the discounted price.... good lord. I can buy a condo for that price in Texas.
LOL. That wouldn't even buy a parking spot in New York City:

The bottom line is if you want to travel long distance, tow anything, have a dependable car in winter, don't mind an $800 + monthly payment and a large insurance premium, take a huge loss on value, pay 20,000 for home charger and pray you don't need to replace the battery, then an EV is for you.
Wait, so you are saying if I want to travel long distance, tow anything, have a dependable car in the winter, then an EV is for me?

I don't think you said what you think you said, read what you wrote again, slowly.

Yea don't be sorry, he knew exactly what he was doing. If you have bought a car, especially a slight upper mid tier in the last two years, either you are rich or you are a silly bum.

From my observations, Slickdeals really gained traction in the bay area about two decades ago and a lot of folks here have F-U money (1% folks).

Maybe I could've been part of that 1% group, but I spent all my money via stupid purchases on SD. But I got a deal!
haha, I actually learned about slickdeals from my cousin from the bay area. And she now has that F U type of money
