It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990
Model S Plaid $89,990

Sorry, I thought it flattened out after 4 years. It actually flattens out after 7. That's why I bought a 2011. Take a look at G-wagon depreciation here:

LMAO, so we are doing a comparison when the entire car market got completely wrecked from a normal trend? Anyone who bought a car before 2020, and sold after was making money on a car. But hey it this works for you, keep at you. You still ignored the fact you will have a gain if you are depreciating.

You cannot deprecate an 80K car to 20K and not recognize a gain when you resell it at 80K. Believe you might be able to carry that basis into your new car but then you will never see depreciation again. People acting like money is just free.

Same. I also have a 2022 x. I've been buying Tesla a while, but these price games are worse than used car lot tactics. They have no issue screwing over recent buyers, existing customers, and even future buyers with price manipulation, feature changes, deceptive behavior, and even all out lies on capabilities of their products. This price change is the last straw for me. The brand is not worth it at all.
At least you are aware of what you are paying clearly on the website. Also, what about Ford and other manufacture when they slashes $20,000 off of an $80,000 f-150 out of no where. Worst when you stepped into a stealer ship. They will monkey with the math, so your $20,000 discount turns into $2,000. Go check out Fitzgerald hyundai at Rockville MD. Oh, they love doing magic on numbers to screw $1000 from you.

I have a valid question. Where do you poop when charging? When I road trip for work I use the bathroom at gas stations all the time gas up and roll.

You laugh but he is correct. The model S Plaid is one of the fastest production cars made so far. Can you name another sedan under $100K that do 0-60 in 2 seconds?
Closest ICE car I can even think is 2023 Porsche Taycan Turbo S
2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo S
Price: $187,400
0- 60: 2.6 seconds

I have Model 3 Performance and can tell you for sure the instant power is hard to beat. Its a huge achievement of automotive engineering for sure.

Not 4 doors.. But yes. Dodge Challenger Demon 170. Under $100k, 1/4 mile in the 8's.

Also. Although a plaid is quick going straight... turning the wheel is a very different story. Even with all that acceleration, a crap ton of cars destroy plaids on actual courses. Those cars often have half the equivalent power. There is a keen difference between raw power and being able to utilize it in real world applications.

I wouldn't trade a dozen plaids for any 911 variant.

I dont understand why this deal is getting downvoted. this is a very good deal for those that can afford it.
It's not a deal. It's a new MSRP from egregiously overpriced to normal priced. Anything that drops 20-30% in MSRP value in a year and then used values plummet is a trap.

I have the Model Y LR, waiting for the Model 3 Highland pre-order. Now I'm thinking Model X! $7500 tax credit, $1K referral credit and $27K Section 179 tax loophole (SCorp) business owner. YMMV and Slickdeal?

Did they increase the price of Model 3? It shows base price of $40,240, it was ~$38k few weeks back i believe.

$5 fillup EVs are awesome
EVs aren't for everyone. Parents with kids, who need quick refueling, filling up $5 EV in 1 hour, and think they will patiently wait till you fill, is not awesome. Charging infrastructure is not there yet, so making adjustments to your plan according to charging infrastructure is not awesome. Range Anxiety is not awesome. Poor build quality, build material, bad suspension, and overpriced cars aren't awesome. A Tesla Model Y owner, who thought Tesla could be his only and primary car.

In for a Plaid, quicker than a Hellcat but doesn't sound as good.

Not at all. What was said was and is correct. Trucks tend to have massive discounts EOY, and equity is decimated.
Ford Truck MSRPs need to come back to earth too. The price increases are out of control.

That being said, I have never seen an MSRP drop like the Tesla Plaid. 137K to 90K is madness. Sucks for people that bought last year, but awesome price to performance for new buyers.

Sigh, a car priced at a person's salary.

Hmm not going to lie, I kinda wish I wouldn't have got the corvette in May this year with this costing the same for the Plaid.
