It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990

$2M+ NW is the new $1M+. Also, how many of those people browse and comment on Slickdeals?
I'm NW 5M+ but I still buy tons of stuff on slickdeals. It's my go to place for anything besides food.

Well, I already have 4 cars under my name and recently added a base Tesla Model S to my policy for $843 for 6 months. $140/month if you do the math. by the way I am in mid 30 y old and using 21st insurance which is Farmers now. I don't know which insurance company and bad records you have on file, but 490 a month isn't the right price.
What state are you in? I'm in CA and have a perfectly clean record for 25 years with the same policy. Did you get an older used base model S?

Based on what Tesla has been doing with the model Y and Model 3, I have to wonder if these Model S and Model X prices are going to come down even further over the next few months.
They would slow production on S and X at some point versus dropping prices substantially. Remember that Tesla doesn't really need to produce S or X as they sell so few of them. They can't do that with the 3 and Y as those are very high volume vehicles that make up the bulk of production.

If you're in the $1M+ club then you've answered your own question. LMAO

We all know RICH people are cheap, that's how they got rich.

Warren Buffet and Bill Gates are the poster children of frugality. Bill Gates used to cut his own hair with scissors in front of his mirror and used to fly coach in the early days, even when he was a billionaire already. Then you got Buffet who is even more cheap than Gates, Buffet bought a used 20 year old Lexus and a $38,000 old house that he still lives in to this day. LMAO

Wouldn't surprise me if both probably surf slickdeals to see what's trending with the 99% and maybe jump on some cheap deals themselves. LMAO

Now you're categorizing.
Is it the fastest car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production car ever made? No.
Is it the fastest production sedan under $100k from the Factory? Possibly if you don't count the Demon 170 which is a coupe.

Also what you classify as fast isn't the same thing as I do. 0-60 doesn't mean fast to me, it's quick. Quick to get up to speed. Fast is something that can do a 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, or top speed. I don't disagree that instant power is great, I was just pointing out the stupidness of saying it was "the fastest car ever made." I've got an Audi S4 that gets 3.2 0-60's with just a simple OTS tune, they just don't come that way from the factory.
Demon 170 is only good on a prepped drag strip to get its numbers but even then, I very no one will get the numbers Dodge did. Why? Because with the first gen Demon, no one and I mean no one has been able to get the numbers Dodge claimed with a stock Demon.

Plus from a roll, they aren't as fast as they claim to be either. Plenty of 10 second cars that have been beating the first gen Demon that's supposed to be a 9.6 car from a roll.

But do you really think the S Plaid's less than 2 sec 0-60 isn't that fast and want to compare it to a S4 that does it in 3.2 seconds? Lol. I can tell you know nothing about the S Plaid. Low 9 sec 1/4 mile and is 60-130 mph is around 4.7 seconds. That's comparable to a stock McLaren 765LT and P1! Also faster than a stock Ferarri LeFarrari and a 992 911 Turbo S. And all those cars are way above the S Plaid price range.

Name another (100% stock) car, now, that can do a low 9 sec 1/4, 0-60 under 2 seconds, can carry 4 adults and not need drag tires or a prepped surface plus do a 60-130 mph in under 5 seconds while being under $100k.

I'm not trying to say Tesla is the best but looking at this from a car persons perspective, you seem to know nothing.

I'll give you a hint: nobody, literally nobody, considers 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, or top speed when they're talking about the "fastest" car. They mean 0-60. That's literally it.

It's funny that the only ICE that can outrun a Model S costs 10 grand more, is limited to 3300 production units, and has to produce over a thousand horsepower (at god knows what fuel mileage), just to *barely* outrun a mass produced car that you see all over town, every single day lol.

And you can floor it in the Tesla at every single stop light and it'll still be running a year from now. If you did that in the Dodge it's going to shit its guts out within the first month. Spending $100k on a Fiat Chrysler car in the year of our lord, 2023? Are you out of your mind lmao?
FYI if you didn't know, Hertz rents Tesla's and other EVs if you want to try one. They seem to have a bunch, I got one for $40 bucks a day and it was a ROCKET I couldn't believe it I floored it and the g-force pressed me in the seat.

I laugh at people complaining about not having money when they get $6 Starbucks x 2 a day = 20 work days a month = $240 which is a cheap car down payment on 90% water they are buying from Starbucks.

I make my own latte every day for less than $1 a cup and well after the cost of the machine has already been paid off long ago

Plaid for $90k is an absurd bargain. Total cost of ownership not much higher than a normal family sedan since there's no gas or real maintenance. For that you get about the highest performing and fasted passenger vehicle ever made.

Seems at this rate, it will be $50k by 2025.
Interesting how people love the cars so much that they are not mad at Tesla for losing them money. I'd bet a ton owe a lot more than the car is worth just in one year.

Elon is making billions off Biden. He should be thanking Biden every morning he wakes up.

We bought a used 2018 75D X early last year for the same price as a new one now. I sorta feel like as if I invested in bitcoin. Resale value just tanked for sure.
