It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990
Model S Plaid $89,990

60k mile warranty. For 70k dollars. That's more expensive than using uber every day, for the rest of your life.
Justifiably so

Dang, I would've gone up to the X from my Y at this price. Those doors and captains seats and pillars are awesome.

Is the X really bigger significantly? It looks to be about the same size.

I have a question. What happens 3 or 4 years down the line when the battery health is down like the phones we use. Do you pay to get the batteries replaced or is there some kind of coverage? Been wanting to get an EV but holding myself back thinking what happens next.
If it's within 8 years, Tesla replaces your battery for free. After that it's about $20k or whatever the market price is at the time

My Model S 2012 is still at 86% battery health after 93,000 miles. Not bad 11 years in, and still far more advanced than 95% of cars on the road.

I don't have to wait for an Uber to go to the local grocery store. And am I going to call an Uber every morning to drop off my kids? And how about long distance road trips? Ubers don't work for that.

Almost the same size, but it makes a huge difference to passenger comfort. It also helps just to fit just a little more and alternative options aren't great

7 seater is over 80k and I don't think that qualifies for $7500 tax credit
You can remove 2 seats to become 5-seat to make it quality tax credit

I'm pretty sure the plaid was going for $130k early last year. That's a big drop in a year and a half.
They only will go lower.

That's not the point. Some families need 7 seat configuration. I'd be more interested if it were 80k with 7 seats or if they could accessorize it so the car price will be <80k

Glad I got my Plaid on release. $18k price drop in a day?! That's not their typical grand or two drop that stings but is easy to get over. I don't know how I'd handle this if I'd have picked one up recently
Why would you be glad that you spend more for it on release day?

Because it took 18 months for its first drastic price drop. Easier to deal with than say it dropping the next day after picking it up

My 2014 had only lost 10% of its initial range when I sold it this year.

That's one vehicle. Their overall market share is dropping and will continue to drop as more EV options emerge.

Yea maybe EV market share. They are going after the ICE market share.
