It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990

You're paying almost double any other car. You could actually buy 2 hybrids for the same price. Long term, maintenance cost is exactly the same, you're just paying it to Tesla upfront instead of over the life of ownership. Plus, batteries die, gas is always available. As I said, price/performance/value is better with hybrid.
A model 3 runs $35k after tax incentives and that doesn't factor any state tax credits if they are available. The average price of a new vehicle is $45k. How is this double the cost? Tesla . Com, just go there, it's very easy to see how wrong you are for yourself.

Hybrids that I've seen with similar options are very close in price especially after you consider the $7500 rebate. M3 = $40k - $7500 or more if state incentives. MY = $50k - rebates. You should do some research concerning Tesla's batteries. They will outlast your ICE vehicle for sure. Unfortunately early hybrids used very early battery tech and now everyone is scared that their car will just die. Tesla has been making cars for a decade now. This isn't cutting edge stuff now.

And if you enjoy tech there is no one close to their app, car update & autopilot. I just did my first camping night in the back of the MY with the SO. Only used a 8% battery to keep us nice and comfortable. The vehicle is very enjoyable to drive. When I have a tesla virgin in my car the amount of wtf moments are hilarious. Not just the speed. "Why did the car ding?" The light turned green. "It knows that!" "What do you mean you don't need to hit the brake?"

I guess until you experience it you'll just be left in the dark with a I don't like change attitude. Regardless electric revolution is here. And you'll be hard pressed to buy ICE after 2030.

22" tires disqualifies the X from tax credit. If I want 22s…do you guys suggest aftermarket? It's silly that tires pushes it over. Any work around?

I already bought a MY. I only wish I would have known the MX pricing would come down so much. Just walk up and the door opens. Press brake and door closes automatically. Ride is amazing in it.

When I researched this and emailed my accountant, the sale price must be less than $80k. You can buy the same wheels directly from tesla to put on when you pick-up but must be done after purchase. I suggest you stick with the 20" though. You loose range and probably some ride quality going to the 22s. Just be happy you can get a MX and the rebate. This wasn't possible until a few days ago due to price reductions.

I love my Tesla Model S. I don't care how many times Elon wants to reduce the price of the car. Yes my car has depreciated a line value but the car is amazing!

Tesla, price of cars fluctuate as much as the price of their stock.
Tesla is #1 in putting the "dealer markup" on the pricing day 1 before pulling the rug on everyone to the real pricing.

40+ k drops meant that it was grotesquely over priced. I feel for those early adopters but I guess new shiny toys, latest price to make Emerald mine owner very fat and pastel-pale happy. Happy E driving folks.

Cant wait to see a station wagon EV, AND some kid spills their drink causing an explosion 💣🤣
And how the hell would a spilled drink cause an explosion in an EV? I've spilled lots of drinks in my Chevy Bolt and it's yet to combust lol.

Model s performance here. 0-60 in 2.3 sec. Got it in late '19. Paid it off already. Unlimited free supercharging. Although I mostly charge at home using my solar panels.

Haven't had any issues with it besides small cosmetic complaints. I.e. some noise in the door panel which they fixed, my seat motor had an issue so they replaced the seat. But the few times I was at the service center I had mostly positive experience. I also had to replace 6 tires(21" rims and bad luck) and replaced them with Tesla each time with a mobile mechanic that comes to my house. Super fun to talk to these guys, they know the anatomy of their cars in such detail. Had some great conversations with them, definitely gives me confidence in their mechanics' abilities.

Paid for another 4 years of warranty. Haven't noticed obvious battery degradation.

One thing I dislike is the lack of customer support with Tesla. If I want to call and complain or ask a question it's not really an option.

Another one is the quality control. These are expensive vehicles but the panels misalign slightly. Just test drove the latest model x and had the same misalignments and worse than my 2019 S. I also can't care less about the FSD, I would much rather tesla invests that money to make the cabins more quiet(they are quiet but try a mercedes s class, that's ultra quiet) or add more details like Rivian add to their trucks.

Overall I am interested in buying a model x now. Can't go back to ICE cars, feels so inconvenient to stop at gas stations, change oil or break pads. All things I hated about my previous vehicle.

Have a friend who got a 2015 model s. Still drives it, battery is holding well according to him.

Hope my post helps anybody who is on the fence.

P.s. oh and for god's sake when are they going to add a bird's eye view(360 degree) view. My car has 8 cameras, what are they waiting for…

DO NOT get the tesla 22" wheels. Trust me. You don't want to pay $5500 difference and have to pay $500 at least twice a year for popped tires. Get the 19" and if you really want 22", sell the 19 and get aftermarket. It will cost you half the $5500 tesla charges.
