It looks like they cut prices on the Model X and Model X Plaid. The base Model X now sells for $79,990 while the Plaid now sells for $89,990. All color options are included too. It also seems as if it might now qualify for a tax credit.

Edit: Model S prices were slashed too.

Model S base model $74,990
Model S Plaid $89,990

Unless you need to tow, haul, or carry anything.
If I need to do any of that I can just rent a vehicle for the occasion. Usually when hauling or 'carry anything' is involved, it's a large item that I'd rather get delivered professionally anyway.

I can't imagine having to daily drive a full size pickup truck just for the one or two times a year I might need to use something bigger than my jeep (or my family's full size sedan). Sure there's opportunities missed (like getting free stuff _if I show up right now with a truck_) but I can live with that.

IMHO the best vehicle for that lifestyle is a used minivan.

Interesting that Tesla isn't even marketing several differentiating X features on their website anymore. Power/auto front doors, unobstructed overhead front glass, gps-based air suspension, bioweapon defense mode, not even mentioned? Did they remove these features, or just decide they're not worth advertising any more?

75,000 is the discounted price.... good lord. I can buy a condo for that price in Texas.
Not in DFW. Average prices are $250-$300/ sq ft. Good luck finding anything under $350K that isn't a complete dump.

Fastest car ever made??
He is correct. Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 runs 0-60 in 1.66 seconds, the SSC Tuatara can reach 316mph and the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut can go 330mph. Tesla isn't even in the top ten of fastest production cars.

Corvettes/Challenger SRT Demon/Mustang Shelby GT500 seems like a better comparison for any model Tesla vs. $1,000,000+ hyper-cars in the company of the low production Bugatti's/Koenigsegg's of the world.

I get the feeling that most people take the S Plaids insane acceleration as it being the 'fastest' production car when they may mean the fastest acceleration to XXX mph.

It's tough to argue the car isn't one of, if not the 'quickest' in the mass manufactured automobile world. I don't know how many Plaid's they have made, but they have built over 300,000 S's at this point. Has Bugatti even built 1,000 cars in their existence yet?

Are they passing along the savings of not including a full steering wheel?

Are they trying to clear out inventory in preparation for a refresh release like the M3?
No, the Model X was very recently refreshed along with the S.

Believe they have made over 1000 since VW took over.

300-500 for the charger and 200-2000 for charger installation.

Charger installation costs vary greatly depending on how far the garage is from your panel. Also if you need a panel upgrade it will be much more.

In many places, the utility provide may have rebates on charger purchase and installation. Example where i live SMUD [smud.org]has some major rebates.

I've done many renovations around the house and would load the back of my model s no problem. Has a huge trunk. Carry is not an issue, recently carried a freezer in it.

Many don't care to tow or haul. I certainly don't.

If you are buying a 90K car and qualify for rebate, means your income is too low and cant really afford to buy the car...LOL..
