Heads up, there's no SD card slot. So if you don't pay for a subscription you at best get a 10 second clip.
There's no onboard storage to use the free playback feature like their other cameras.

Today I noticed that the white light doesn't come on when I approached it and ringing the doorbell didn't do anything. I went into the app and the video was streaming. I restarted the video doorbell from the app. After it restarted it was fine.
Like I said, it's basic and shows for it's $30 price tag. If you can wait I'd recommend a Blink doorbell when it's on sale towards Black Friday.
Overall happy with this doorbell, but it does have some issues/limitations.
1. No SD card so it's limited to 10s cloud recording every 5 mins. Not a problem for me as I don't have a busy front door. And I have an old POE camera cover my front door as well.
2. Wyze doesn't have a good tracking record of the stability. When I first got this doorbell, I'm really happy (cheap, works really well). Few months later, a problematic firmware update made the doorbell not usable. At least half of the time, I found my doorbell won't ring, or lost wifi so no recording. The problem last for about half a year. I was considing replace it with a different one but was too lazy. Finally Wyze fixed the issue with firmware update and it works really nice till now (more than a year). Hopefully Wyze won't break it again in future.
Similar issue happens to my Cam v3 as well. Unlike doorbell, the camera itself works well (records videos). But the app to camera connection is very unstable. For few months, the app is just not able to connect to the camera. It was finally fixed with Wyze app update, but that took more than half year.
The worst product I got from Wyze is Smart Watch (the 40mm one). Even the alarm on the watch didn't work (alarm at the wrong time). I throw that thing in the trash.
Overall I think Wyze products are still a good cheap option, and that's the reason I still uses my Wyze doorbell and Cam V3. But if you want something worry free and just works, you may want find a different brand.
Stay away from these cheap ass products.
