Platinum points help you redeem physical and digital rewards from the Nintendo shop(i.e merchandise) I believe they also help with buying things in certain mobile games. Maybe a few other things but I can't remember atm.

Gold points on the other hand give discounts on games in the eShop(you get those from buying games and redeeming them). If you have enough saved up you can even buy a game with em, but you have to be mindful with them, because they do expire within 12 months.

It gives 100 points once a day, not sure if you need correct answers or not because I haven't got one wrong yet 🤪
