This caught my eye and I was considering it until I checked some reviews. Many mention it being a particularly big and somewhat heavy before adding any components but that'd be a plus for me. Others mentioned the compartment for the power supply is too tight or too small for standard power supplies. Then there was several stating fans either DoA or dieing within varying short amounts of time. But the worst were those saying it apparently has terrible airflow. To the point of damaging components.

Darn. I thought I'd finally found a nice large case that wasn't crazy expensive. Oh well. Maybe one of these days my Deal Alert for "full tower" will actually find a full tower case.

Give the case another look and actually watch reviews more carefully. The problem with the 500X that causes the very negative perception of the 500P as well is that MSI stupidly put the 200mm fans directly covering the mesh which gives almost no gap for airflow. If you replace the fans and move them behind the mesh, it's really not bad. It's obviously a solid panel design so it isn't going to be a best performer, but it won't thermal throttle either like it does by default. It definitely needs some modification to get to a reasonable level of quality. Two things that it really needs are to cut the PSU shroud at the front to allow better fan fitment and to cut out some of the mesh pattern on the top of the case under the top panel. These aren't difficult mods to do. For $80 for a full tower case, a little bit of modding is pretty much required. For what it seems like you want, I think this could actually work for you if you are willing to make those changes to the case.
