2532? They couldn't just do the obvious thing and make it a 2600-piece set? Come on, people!

Would it have been that difficult to make the system work too? Honest question.

Dang, choices. I'm partial to the car but the 2600 console is cool. I think I have the original still somewhere in my dad's garage.

Wouldn't be hard. The rg35xx is tiny, has hdmi output, and can run tons of games, including 2600 games.

I'm sure they can fit an emulated controller too, but actually controlling with a lego controller & the atari joystick is gonna be tough. I think that's the bottleneck to really making it wonrk.

But this is a model so...

No paddle controller and TV RF adapter kills it.

Kidding, but I should probably consider taking the money I would have spent on this and using it to make a nice display for the real one I have. Still works, at least it did when I tried it a few years ago. BTW the real one's top doesn't open like that. Other details look pretty good.

It is not that hard to do this yourself. I removed the pop-up display and nestled a Raspberry Pi inside the unit, so that the USB ports are flush with the outside of the back of the unit. I routed a Pi power cable with an on/off switch so that it comes out the back as well.

You don't need any extra bricks, and with just the included Lego parts you can get the Pi in there solidly. You can then plug your controller of choice in and play any 2600 game you like.

Please don't remind me. I wasted countless hours falling in pits and not knowing what to do.

Well, if you count all the extra pieces, plastic bags, box and the carton box, receipt, the book(s), and stickers, you might hit that number. Smilie

Got both Atari and Peugeot. Great deals.

The original Atari 2600 was actually cheaper than this Lego version if you ignore inflation. It was the best of times it was the worst of times…
