The Home Depot [homedepot.com] has 4-Lbs DR. EARTH Organic Home Grown Tomato Vegetable and Herb Dry Fertilizer (60 sq. ft.) for $3.99 with free store pickup.

Product Description from Store
Home Grown Vegetable Fertilizer produces remarkable results because nutrients are released quickly, yet continue to feed for several months. Infused with Advanced TruBiotic, consisting of five champion strains of beneficial soil microbes and eighteen select strains of ecto and endo mycorrhizae which ensures organic nutrients are thoroughly broken down and then released in the soil for plant roots to absorb as needed and contributes to drought tolerance, enhanced nutrient availability and increased plant performance. Builds soil health, promotes a superior harvest, with larger and more abundant, nutritious and tasty crops. 100% organic, contains no synthetic ingredients, GMO infested chicken manure or sewage sludge. Ideal for organic vegetable gardens, raised beds, planting containers, and compost tea.

Compare the ingredients and get back to us.

Yes, one is marketed for gardens and the other is marketed for shrubs. Understand the ingredients, what you need, and what you don't need.

That said, I placed an order before this slickdeal was posted for 18 bags of Holly Tone and 6 bags of DR EARTH.
Lucky you. I would have done the same, but deal seems to be over.

Not so lucky. They cancelled the Holly Tone.

Someone forgot to tell my plants that since they've been responding well to whatever organic fertilizers I've used on them for years now, including vegetables. The ingredients are all essentially the same if anyone bothers to examine the various products. The rest is just marketing.
The NPK for Holly Tone is 4-3-4 with 5% calcium.
The NPK for this Dr. Earth tomato/herb fertilizer is 4-6-3 with 7.5% calcium.
For tomatoes, I personally prefer Espoma Tomato-Tone which is is 3-4-6 with 8% calcium.
Either way, notice that the ones for tomatoes have a lower ratio of Nitrogen, and more calcium.

Holly Tone will give you lush, green, healthy-looking tomato plants with lots of leaves but less fruit (and the fruit you do get could be more prone to blossom end rot).

D'oh! Were the 18 you ordered all the website indicated were in stock when you purchased? I ordered my 12 bags around 6:30pm and at 6:45pm they txted that it was ready to pick up, so I decided it would be best to go grab them ASAP before they closed rather than wait until today. They started out with 38 bags (all looking very clean and new unlike the gnarly bags of clearance fertilizer I usually catch at Lowe's. The sale ended and they still had 20 left in stock here.

They showed 24 in stock and 6 after I ordered. I'm east coast, and I didn't see the price drop until after the stores closed. (I had been monitoring the prices for all the fertilizers in the Special Buy of the Day since morning, having experienced in the past that prices on these types of items can come and go throughout the day.) I "only" ordered 18 bags specifically to give some safe margin with the inventory number, otherwise I would have been happy to claim all 24. I'm curious what would have happened had I placed, say, three orders for 6 bags each. I have good experience with stores modifying my orders if quantities fall short, rather than all out cancelling, so I really don't know what happened this time.

Ah. I was also actively monitoring the 27lb holly tone bags specifically, since I was down to my last two 16lb bags of Jobe's Organics Holly Food. Lowe's had the Holly Food on clearance for $3.39 each in Q1 2021, then it was apparently discontinued in that size. It was after 6pm when I saw they'd updated the price on the home depot site.

Homedepot support says that one is for shrubs and one is for vegetables. So you are deadly wrong
And I'm sure HD support is reading the generality of what the bags are saying.

The base of all the Espoma products is very similar. This Holly has a NPK of 4-3-4, so is a little higher in nitrogen than what would be ideal for fruit/vegetable production, but it is also mostly slow release and should be fine.
The part about this being for Acid loving plants is the higher amount of Sulfer contained. There are plenty of vegetables that will benefit from this, such as Tomatoes for flavor & blueberries are low PH loving crop. While I wouldn't feed the tomatoes this all season, as it possible could drop the pH a bit too much for optimal growth, other crops will take it all season, such as blueberries.

Unless you can get your fertilizer this cheap all the time, I'd save the Espoma/organic for crops, and would use cheaper synthetic on my shrubs.
