its still expensive to be locked into their ecosystem. it will become useless when they discontinue the product or service. they could also start putting features behind a paywall again like they used to.

Yes (obviously check with your insurance company about the requirements) but for mine, it's 7% off the premium. Makes it a very quick payback period

I was always wondering - does having a device like this installed give a discount on homeowner's insurance?

I would think that if I'm mitigating a significant risk, I should get a discount.

Yes (obviously check with your insurance company about the requirements) but for mine, it's 7% off the premium. Makes it a very quick payback period

I bought this about 6 months ago and have loved it so far. It does a nightly leak test and it actually has detected several small drips with my garden hoses. When you leave you can put it on away mode and it will look for any water usage while you're gone. I get an automated phone call sometimes when my kids take way too long of a shower.
