Great deal on a good basic tablet style scanner. The one year of free updates, alone sells for a couple hundred dollars, I believe. I own a similar model to this, and as far as the low end of the higher end scanners - you get a lot for your money with this scanner.

Example: I have a 2006 g35 with intelligent fob. Their website only says "register" for anything useful to do with the fob. What does that mean? Does it mean you can get the buttons to work? Whoooopdeedoo. If it can't program it to the immo, then it's absolutely useless. What good is an intelligent fob if it can't start the car?

But I totally agree with you.All of these scanner manufacturers do an abysmal job of telling you what their product can and cannot do, and they don't tell you how to do these things, either. And there is no YouTube reviewer I've found who describes how these devices work. They all just tell you how nice the screen is or whether the Bluetooth works. Really, it's remarkable that you can't get a straight answer out of any of these people.
I bought a THINK diagnostic scanner and it's very nice. I was able to use it to register a new fob to a 2012 Toyota Prius, but it's poorly documented and hit or miss as to whether it will do what you need it to do.
