I no longer trust this store. I bought a bunch of epoch batteries here. Something like 20% of them were at less than a volt, and another 20% between 1 and 2 volts. Everything was able to charge, some requiring a lab power supply because my chargers refused to work with them. I don't know how longevity or capacity has been affected. The reviews for this battery all say the same thing, including mentions of talking to customer service, so the company is aware of the problem and shipped them out anyway.

It was these specific cells:
https://www.18650batterystore.com...-25p-18650

I see a lot fewer dead-cell reviews than I remember, and all the ones that mention dead cells are 4 star reviews. I really think they weeded out low star reviews. I looked at every 18650 cell and they all appear to have an average 5 star rating. Digging through I can't find a single review less than 4 stars. It's the same with chargers, and every other item I can find. I call shenanigans on this whole website.

Yeah yikes. What happened? I was thinking this was a shat deal, but with some looking the 18650 deals are just gone.
I buy materials industrially. Price per ton of component materials has skyrocketed.across the board, on everything from paper pulp feedstock to minerals. Shipping costs have roughly doubled, depending on transport type (short notice broker contracts on reefer trucks are 3-4x what they were a year ago)
I don't see any signals from industry or politicians that it's going to relax any time soon, so I've been advising anyone that will listen that if you're going to buy something (car/house/whatever) try doing it sooner rather than later.

Can I buy these cells to repair my battery pack for the yard blower
You need to have a really good soldering bench because to replace a cell in a high voltage tool battery you will need to desolder the whole pack, find the bad cell, then resolder the whole pack. Its a nightmare. Of course those packs retail for such a high price it might be worth it, but just to warn you, it will NOT be easy.

Bro I'd throw those away. That's supper sketchy from my understanding. I just threw away a bunch of lg 3000 mah cells cause I let them drain to under 1v and they charged back up BUT they get really hot when used. Once they drop that low it messes with the chemistry and just makes the battery way less stable Aka (fire hazard)

You DO NOT solder directly to battery cells. You spot weld them.

That brings back memories of a LTT video where they attempted just that. Not easy and sketchy at best. Considering how dangerous these things can be I wouldn't take those chances...

Bought hundreds of 18650 and 21700 cells from this place to build packs for drones. Never had a single bad cell. But we only buy Molicel, Samsung, and sometime Sony Murata. Chances of others failing are much higher.

Why didn't you contact them? Epoch aren't exactly the best batteries. They are Chinese made, guess you didn't know that, unfortunately they don't have the greatest rep for producing quality stuff. I don't expect the seller to test every battery they send out. It's not like they ship 5-10 cells per day, it's hundreds if not thousands, that's just impossible. I would expect it to work coming from manufacturer.

Good point, you need to heat fast and precise, it can't really be called soldering and that makes the suggestion of self-repair even worse. Who among us has a spot welder on their bench? Its just such a bad idea.

Don't be naive just cuz you associate these high powered batteries with that, everyone else does too? You do understand these are batteries, right? They power everything from cars, bikes, scooters, flashlights, portable charging stations, I can go on forever but that'd be as silly as your question.
