The trend of large watches is dying down now though. And I would say 44mm is considered large these days. Even 42mm is now being considered the largest many will tolerate. Yes, Invicta and other mall watches are still large, but the ppl buying those mall watches don't want to pay 1k for a watch. Anyone willing to pay big money on a watch would probably consider 44mm to be large. I'm even seeing the trend back to 36mm become more and more popular now.

* If you're considering this watch from this seller, I have purchased a watch from WatchMaxx before and although the watch was backordered, in my case, the customer service was helpful and they seemed pretty cool to work with. * I have this watch, slightly different in that mine is a ProPilot on a leather strap and NOT a GMT. Mine is 41mm. So, Yes, 44mm IS larger, but the engineering on Oris watches is so amazing that I read one reviewer say that this 44mm watch still fit his 6 1/2 wrist well due to the slight curvature of the lugs. So, 41mm or 44mm isn't EVERYthing. It's very helpful. Just not EVERYTHING. If I could, I'd buy this watch on the bracelet at $949.00 in a heartbeat. My absolute best to anyone who can. I love my Oris ProPilot. (This GMT watch is definitely THICK at 15mm. So, if you're looking for a SOLID watch that you're never gonna forget on your wrist and you're gonna feel it, this IS IT!) (also, it's super fun when people who KNOW watches see you have an Oris on. Just a whole other kind of nod of respect. Just my experience) Ok, good luck. Lol

44mm is no longer considered a "large watch" anymore. In the real world, its full of 50mm Invictas and oversize sports watches from the mall.Reality is the average person doesnt even know what "Oris" is..other than Rolex.

You're seeing what you want to see. IMO No one is going back to 36mm for men's watches, I see no evidence of that. 41/42mm is the standard. Anything close is average, anything on either end is getting small or large. When rolex introduced 42 and 43mm models you kinda know the needle has moved.

Well, you're wrong. I regularly wear a number of 36mm's from my King Seiko to my Omega Seamaster. Big watches aren't 'in' anymore. Granted 36mm might be a bit small for the average American, I'm also smaller than the average male at 5"7 so that's my preferred size. I'd say 39mm-40mm is probably the 'in' size now.

38 is more of the standard these days for the "best fitting" , 36 is too small, 40-41 is ideal for modern, 42+ is large and can be uncomfortable.

I have a 38mm, 40mm, 43mm and I feel like 40 is the perfect modern size. The 38 is perfect for dress or keeping it low key and 43 is my flex but it also is heavy (it's a diver)

Watch size is definitely trending downward after a long period of the opposite. Anyone who doesn't realize this is misinformed. For example, Rolex brought back the 36mm Explorer which it had discontinued. The hot versions of Tudor's Black Bay are all of the small ones, and the 41 mm versions are basically ignored. Tissot and Christopher Ward just released smaller versions of their popular PRX and XII series due to customer demand.

I just got a 45mm Tissot and though it fits me, due to being 6'5 230, it is bulky and I like my 42mm Citizen Eco-Drive better. This will probably be the only watch I will ever buy that is this large. Not a big fan.

Maybe smart watches have significantly degraded the mid-tier watch in their target demo? Movado and Mido once seemed like standard-issue for young dudebros who wanted to cultivate the image of earning more money than they did, but now those guys seem to wear Apple watches.

This Oris ProPilot Automatic GMT watch isn't all that big when you consider the Tissot Seastar 1000 GMT watch is 46mm. If this were 41MM or 40MM this watch would be perfect. It's hard to find GMT watches that aren't big.

Not saying anyone is right or wrong... I've sold 104 watches over the last 6 months. The bulk of those were 40mm and up. The sweet spot seems to be 42-43. I have about 25 sitting here now that are 39mm and smaller and they move the slowest.

I'm certain there are other variables that need to be taken into account such as cost.

I have a U-Boat and Zulu Longines both in 42mm. I like that size a lot but I could easily go larger. I don't think I would go smaller. I have a smaller BSwiss that is 38mm which I never wear because it looks too small on my wrist.

FYI: I do not see a power reserve meter on this watch.

My Samsung Galaxy 6 is 47mm and looks great Smilie

Funny this was posted- I just got a stainless band for it and put an Oris watch face on it. I got about a half dozen compliments from complete strangers just walking around downtown Cleveland last weekend.

So....People like Oris! LMAO If you're still into mechanical watches, you can't go wrong here.

Real watch enthusiasts would consider lug to lug more than case diameter. Also have to consider bezel thickness. All 3 play a big part in how a watch wears and that's not even mentioning wrist size/width.

Personal opinion at this point but (for me), 38-39mm is the sweet spot. A little larger for sport, a little smaller for dress.
