They do not use any of this sciency stuff though, but special calc type is required by school
TI-30 is the preferred, and that, I think it's just to keep everyone on the same page.
My daughter's died while she was in 10th grade and we purchased her a Casio with no issues, but things are different in high school to middle school.
My son who just went into 8th grade has the TI-30, it's still on required school supply list.

I you don't want to splurge for the HP Prime, it looks like sharp el535 might support RPN. At least it shows up in an Amazon search for RPN calculators and the equals button is also labeled as enter. It's also only $22 right now.

(I'm not differentiating between used and new because calculators rarely break. Casios, TIs, etc - you can pass them down generation to generation without an issue.)

These two Casios with 250+ functions is overkill, so buy cheap.
