At this price point the insta360 just offers way more features for the money. I still can't believe Gopro hasn't fixed their overheating issues and while the wider lens is a great option it's $100 more 😔

Hard pass. Read the reviews on Youtube. Most are leaning towards DJI Action 4. The Hero 12 is a big disappointment for lacking major upgrades. It's basically just Hero 11 with minimal software upgrade. Plus the battery life is much better on DJI Action 4.

I know I will be getting an action camera, leaning towards DJI 4 or GoPro 9?( {I heard these were the best models?)

I returned my GoPro 9. The image and video quality is unacceptable and unjustifiable. I'd prefer DJI Action 4. DJI Action 2 has overheating problem and the DJI Action 3 has soft focus problem so I'd skip those. If you want to go with GoPro, look at Hero 10/11.

I stopped getting GoPro after the Hero Session 4k, the little box action cam. Now I'm on the DJI Action bandwagon, the interface is way easier and more intuitive on the Action 1 and 2. Just bought the Inst360 x3, very promising but I'm not a fan of the fisheye look and inability to use ND filters.
