To everyone asking which one is better between XS and Ananda Stealth, I have both.

They are both amazing headphones. Both offer mind blowing Soundstage, clarity and bass (for an open back). Anandas are a little bit more higher frenquency focused and the XS have a little better bass response. Other than that, sound quality is really good on both and you can barely tell the difference. For gaming, the Anandas are superior since they are easier to drive with the ps5 controller (although I use Qudelix amp/dac plugged to the console and it sounds way better.)

The real big difference is comfort and build quality which the Ananda wins by a pretty big margin. I pick up more my Anandas just because of that. Comfort in headphones is something that alot of people take for granted, but using a headphone for 2-6 hours straight, really plays a big role.

At this price, the Anandas are the superior end game headphones for the price. I wouldn't think it twice..

Well you're comparing entry level closed headphones to upper mid-tier open back planars so really they couldn't be more different. With the ATH-M50's you have headphones that are fairly portable, very easy to drive and they isolate sounds fairly well as well. The soundstage from going from a closed dynamic and to an open-back planar will be one of the biggest differences, also expect much faster decay and tighter bass because the ATH-M50s have a pretty big midbass bloat. The Anandas will also sport bass that reaches down a bit further, higher quality rather than quantity. The sound of open-back planars gets you much closer to replicating the sound of a great speaker setup than entry-level audiophile closed portables. The Sony MDRV6 which I believe someone else mentioned have much less subbass and the treble quality can be sibilant despite them being supposed reference headphones. In my opinion The Harman Curve is superior for everyday listening and these Anandas are much closely aligned to that frequency than either the Sony or ATH-M50. The Anandas are detailed but not lifeless, they are warm but not excessively so. And they have a midrange that never sounds sucked out or depleted like those aforementioned headphones.

Using Sundara with Monoprice THX AAA headphone amp (deal posted here a few months ago). Is it worth the upgrade from Sundara?

BTW - I tried Monoprice M1060, HM HE5XX and H4XX and Sennheiser HD 560S, and Sundara was the best followed by HE 5XX (real bargain but too bass boosted).

From measurements alone, it doesn't appear the Sundara is an upgrade. More info can be found here; https://www.audiosciencereview.co...one.22281/ From everything I've read, including my experience, you'd be better of with a good equalizer to get the best out of your current system.

I was holding out for one of the ~$1000 high end ones like the HD800S, Arya, Clears but said screw it and just got this instead. Won't feel too guilty if I need to upgrade down the line again as it is a fraction of the price. Should be a decent upgrade from my HD600 I hope.

$229 Sundara Closed backs arrived. I kinda knew what to expect, at least comfort wise, since I had previously demoed regular Sundaras. Long story short they suck out of the box. Good thing I have a Q5k. Got a bit better with the preset but not great.

Then I discovered wavelet in the app store. It's like a slimmed down easier to use version of the Q5k. With the Sundara Closed back preset and the U eq, with the Q5k simply providing power and connectivity for my Pixel 7, the Sundara Closed finally sound "fun".

Haven't really focused on sound stage, I just want something I can bass out to and jam while in the office.

I've put in an order for the Anandas anyway, f it if I'm a bit "annoying" with sound leakage in the office. If I need to be "incognito" I'll just switch to either set of my IEMs, Kiwi Cadenza for wired, Galaxy Pro Buds for when I'm on the go working out/running since I can play the Buds direct from my Garmin Venu2 athletic watch and not need to carry around my phone/Q5k.

Will be nice to A/B demo the Ananda Stealth vs the Sundara Closed before I return the Sundaras
