Just an FYI. Sago Palms are toxic to dogs. We have all encountered that "dumb" dog that gleefully eats everything. These are conveniently low to the ground and have killed dogs. https://vcahospitals.com/know-you...-poisoning

I like Sago's, but depending on your animals, probably something to keep in mind before you find out the hard way.

Cats too!

Sago palm (Cycas revoluta) is an extremely toxic plant to cats. Toxicity occurs more often in dogs, but can be seen in cats.

The descriptions all say "house plant", but I'm wondering if they can be planted outdoors. I'd like to use a couple of sago's in a bed outside. Anybody have any input?

Yes, this happened to a friend of mine. She had them all ripped out afterward. She didn't know when they moved in

Just wondering from experience how fast do they grow and how much watering is needed? Tia

Thanks for the heads up. Are any of the other palms toxic to animals?

In for 2 of each 32" variety as 5D chess play for my UPS driver's generously compensated position. 😋

I looked up the ponytail since that is the only one I am interested in, and they are not poisonous to cats or dogs.

Yes, but it is hardy in zones 9-11.
