Ugh I hate that these manufacturers make it so hard to find information relevant to me. Took like half an hour to find that this is 72% NTSC and starts at 3.17 Lbs

I actually think this was a legit question. I wouldn't be to quick to assume that everyone understands tech lingo. An actual response with a comparison and somewhat lay-terms would have done a lot more than a thumbs down.

The Acer does have a significant processor advantage (and its cooling system is designed to handle it unlike many other laptops), but otherwise it comes down to what form factor you like.

The i5-1240p is a 12 core, 16 thread cpu vs the 4 core, 8 thread i5-1145G7.

The laptop from the link doesn't have a backlit keyboard. It says "Traditional, Silver - English (US)". The $549 model has backlit but 8gb ram

For what it's worth, the acer swift 3 uses magnesium alloy instead of aluminum. It's why it is even lighter than this while being a 14" form factor. However, from owning an LG gram that also uses magnesium alloy, it feels like plastic, if that matters to you. It doesn't feel premium at all.

Personally I would wait for Swift Go to go back on sale for $600. It is the successor to the swift 3 and uses aluminum instead of magnesium alloy and maintains the same weight.
