I have noticed that they tend to shrink after 2 washes though. So much that I had to bump up the size 2more inches when I ordered more to offset the shrinkage that occurs.

Strange. I have worn cargo shorts every single day since March 2020 when I was sent home during the pandemic. which is over 1200 straight days.
But dating is not a problem being long time married.
Especially for us Boomers, cargo shorts are perfect. One pocket for my cell phone, one for my wallet, one for my reading glasses, and the 4th for my keys.
