looks like inflated prices on their own store vs amazon

for example rice and chicken is $28 on amazon, they list it as $39.50 so 50% off is $19.75

so yes, it's still $8.25 cheaper than amazon, but it isnt really 50% off

Why does it matter to you? Do you ever see questions about why someone wants so many TV's in his or her house?

I went to see what's already on my shelf, and there's a black widow sitting on one of the cans. I had to set all my freeze dried food on fire. Thankfully I can replace it cheap with this sale.

Why are so many Slickdeals folks so interested in bull freeze dried food? Are there really that many preppers here?

I use them for camping. What's your concern with people's interests? Do you have car or life insurance, technically your a prepper too.

How long are the chicken and beef good for once opened?
1 week at most for any of these. They start to rehydrate from the humidity in the air and go bad. They're shelf stable so long as they stay sealed from the factory and aren't kept in high heat storage (75F or less long term).

I make my own backpacking meals. Better and cheaper than the premade. Great deal!

If you are concerned about that, you can also use a vacuum sealer to portion out your can once you open it. I just throw in an additional moisture absorber per bag (which is probably not required).

Thanks! Bought 20 packs— about half breakfasts and half dinners. I take them on motorcycle camping trips.

I wish they would let me add my own salt. The beef and chicken have 470mg of sodium per serving — 20% of RDV (with 220 calories and 170 calories respectively). There's no reason to add salt preemptively to freeze dried food.

People that try to be prepared and self sufficient tend not to blast it all over the internet.
