I can't even imagine how nice it must be to have a reliable fiber connection at home. I have Cox, which has a duopoly in Phoenix with CenturyLink (now called something else) where they *conveniently* don't overlap their service areas at all. It was only because of Verizon and T-Mobile home 5G being rolled out that Cox updated their plans to an even remotely reasonable 150 down/10 up for about $50 a month. Four years ago that same plan would've cost you something like $95 a month or more. Oh and Cox is insanely unreliable, will fight with you tooth and nail to get a tech out and fix a problem with the lines, and when they DO send a tech out, more than half the time they won't actually fix the problem.
I hate American ISPs so god damn much. StarLink and home 5G can't come soon enough, these companies need to burn.
I mean, regardless, it seems kinda dumb to sign up for any sort of "lifetime" deal when it comes to data transfer.
Fiber may be the best option for the next 5-10 years, sure, but then what? I've had dial-up, DSL, and cable internet over the past 30 years - if I was still using a "lifetime" subscription to any of those, I'd be lagging sorely behind the times.
I don't feel my cable connection is sorely behind. Honestly anything beyond about 50mbps is overkill for most people. Many can get by with way less than they have and not even notice a difference. Streaming 1080p only requires about 10mbps and 25mbps for 4k
I already have ATT Giga if I close services from my name and have new account on my Wife is it still considered a new customer ?
That is what i am doing. Going with 300 mbps plan. It allowed me to place order and accepted all codes. ATT rep also called me to put in a cancellation request for existing account on installation day.
That's DSL, which they're shutting down in the near future too.
That is all AT&T offers in this area. There is a new service called Fastwyre, and they have a 1-year promo going. I'm going to check into it.

ATT was so dishonest with Direct TV that I swore I'd never go back. Not only was it not drastically cheaper like the rep promised us face to face in the ATT store, it was more than I was paying for cable tv. When we called the CS rep she said they had no control over what their reps said and unless we had it in writing from ATT, it didn't apply. My wife had written down everything the rep said and we had gone over it with him so there was no confusion but none of that mattered. We should have gotten a lawyer and filed a class action lawsuit, but who has the time or money to do that, and that's what they're counting on. ATT is one of the most dishonest companies in America. No way I'd ever trust them.
I went through something like that with Dish Network, years back.(when AT&T and Dish were partners) They would quote me an increasingly better deal(each time) when I was going to have it shut off, and said the credit would show on the following billing, each month. (That didn't make sense) When it didn't happen, I called, and was told they could not give me the quoted price. I told them just shut it off, and they still kept trying to talk me into staying. I had to say it 3-4 times, before they would agree. I keep a steno pad that I write down all conversations with companies. The first thing to ask is the name of the person you are talking to.

I see an option for $55 but it is for 300MB speed and not 1GB speed.
Internet Savings Offer: Subj to change and may be discontinued at any time.
$85 for 1 gig.
Very misleading
