If you get the 5% Cach Back from Prime visa, this makes it cheaper than Newegg at approximately $61.74 AFTER cash back.

1) Not notice the speed difference between GEN3/GEN4 outside of benchmarks or system compatibility (PS5 requires GEN4).
2) Never get close to reaching the manufacturer's stated MTTF or TBW.
If all else is equal, get a drive with higher speeds or MTTF/TBW. But if you stuck a P41 and a 980Pro/SN850X into a PS5 and loaded a game, nobody without a stopwatch would be able to tell the difference (you're arguing over tenths of a second).
BF around the corner 4tb!
So it really depends on where your PS5 is and how hot the room is. If you dont have a/c in your house and it gets hot where the PS5 lives in summer time, you probably want a heatsink. If you keep your room on the warmer end even with a/c like say highs 70s/low 80s (27c-ish) at times, you'll want a heatsink. If your PS5 is in an area like enclosed media cabinet where hot air will recirculate within it, you probably want a heatsink.
If your PS5 is like mine in a fully temp controlled basement that's 5+ f cooler than rest of house even in summer time and the temps rarely get over 70-ish (21c) and is sitting out in open air (not enclosed) then there's really zero need for a heatsink for the SSD in a PS5 in that situation. Everyone's situation is different though, certainly never hurts to put one on and you can do it for like $10 or less even, but it's not necessary in situations like mine where the PS5 lives. The temps on my SSD will never get close to throttling.

I notice it falls under the newegg "standard return" which is apparently also their "no hassle" return policy. One important thing.. I would install it right away as soon as it comes... sadly newegg is known for not putting enough packaging/padding around it's stuff when mailing it and sure enough I had a box dented and messed up so badly that not surprisingly the (3.5 form factor SATA) drive I ordered didn't work but no problems at all returning to newegg for a full refund. Definitely hang onto the box and any packaging materials for the full 30 days you have in which to return it to. In all fairness amazon has also done a terrible job packaging electronics or other breakable things they've shipped to me too as well as Best Buy, and so forth and so on it just depends on your luck.
As far as buying it later.. I know the m2 and ssd drives have been low priced for a very long while now which is great
There's a raging argument about whether or not it's worth the additional money for DRAM with a lot of people arguing if it's going to be a windows/boot drive you want DRAM on it .. here's a tom's hardware review if this helps anyone

I think the big question here is given m2 drives like the samsung 970 evo plus is $36 more for 2 TB but apparently better performance (there's a BIG debate on that which I will do my best to dodge
