I got one some time ago and I didn't like it. Tried to copy my win10 from old SATA SSD drive and it was ridiculously slow. It started fast, but the cache filled up quick and the write speed dropped down way below sata-3 speed. Also it got super hot which added throttling on top. So:
1) Have to use heat sink
2) Big writes are super slow even with heat sink.

Other than that the drive is OK. Roll
I call nonsense on that post. Maybe you had some other issues going on or the drive was bad but that certainly isn't the norm for that drive and have to use a heatsink is nonsense.

This is one of the highest rated drive - so if you got some issue, I'd say more than likely is not due to this drive but somewhere else. Own 10+ various intel SSD drives, never had a glitch.

I got a 2.5" patriot SSD, it's very slow inside an enclosure (all my other SSD work well with the enclosure). But after I moved it inside a PC as a secondary storage, its speed is OK.

The Intel SSD is probably not the fastest SSD out there but the Intel name means something. They have a reputation to uphold versus the lesser well known brands out there. We have seen what happens to the brand when they release a flawed product the repercussions last for years.

Seems like discount rate is slowing down, so I think we're maybe starting to bottom out.

I think we're bottoming out as you can see the price drop is slowing down. This is old stock too so matter of time before they run out.

I think they meant as a PCIe gen 3 drive.
