No hardcover no sale. It's imperative to care for the surface of the griddle. You could by a third party hard cover but it could take away from the Slickdeal.

Can you please elaborate on why it's so important for a hard cover? Would a traditional soft grill cover not work for this? Thanks

Soft grill covers pool water (since the ridges on the edge of the griddle are higher than the cooking surface).
That said, there is nothing wrong with a cheap soft cover and a block of wood standing up in the middle to "tent" the water off.

Hard covers plus a soft cover also do a better job of keeping dust/mice out compared to the tent method, but I have never had an issue with either method.

I agree. Depending on the type of weather you experience, you might be able to get away with a hardcover or in harsher environments, hard and soft cover is recommended.

Whether this is cold, rolled steel or cast iron, they rust easily with exposure to the elements. A soft cover unless done properly tends to pool water and leak through onto the griddle. FYI, during storage you do not want the soft cover to touch the surface of the grill as that can trap moisture through the temperature difference between the grill and the cover causing rust as well.

Bought this just recently, I say you get what you pay for. Gets the job done. Locks on wheels is pretty good. I just wish it had a cover for faster cooking.

Use a large disposable foil roasting pan over your food on the griddle. Works as well as a hinged hard cover.

Got this last last summer for $100, that was a slick deal. Like others have said, wish it had a cover to cook faster. I bought Royal Gourmet CR6008 60" Grill Cover on Amazon to keep it covered up from dust.
