Solid deal. I booked a couple of months ago leaving ONT to TPE for the same price, a week or two later Zipair came out with lie-flat seats for 1,000 more or so round trip, or for one leg of the trip, so fyi.

I've flown with these guys at least 10 times in the last 6 months back and forth from TW. Quality airline, however the flights are typically quite full. Service is great, much better then many of the US carriers.

Technically, their main competitor is EVA, China Airlines has always been by popular opinion inferior to EVA airlines.

Once Starlux gets up and running though, I can see prices really lowering maybe 600-700ish. I can only hope!

The deadest record is still hold by the airline - 755 deaths, 8 airplanes lost include two jumbo 747s.
Malaysia Airlines flight 17 and 370 , 2x B777 airplane total death 537 (298 + 239) still could not break the record made by the airline 755 deaths
