Marvel vs Capcom 2 is not backward compatible with Xbox One or later, so it's not available for download unless you have an Xbox 360 (you can get to it from your download history).

It's actually a good reason to buy. Delisted games can no longer be purchased, but can still be downloaded and played (or if you have the physical disc).

The game can be played single player only, and the servers are not going offline. Single and multiplayer will all still work, and all marketplace items will be free.

Never played it, but I've heard the single player campaign was very good. I can't imagine it could ever be bad enough to make me regret buying it for $4.

As for me, gameplay gets boring pretty fast. You get to grinding again and again. Boring quests and activities. I am glad I tried it on a game pass, and did not have to spend any money on it. There is a reason, why it costs $4.
