These suck and go bad in a few months if you actually use them every day.

I used it every day and the ceramic coating flakes off the inside of the mug. Technically it's safe but the cup looks awful inside and something about knowing the ceramic continues to flake off in my drink bothered me.

I stopped using mine and got a dumb version of a electric warming mug from Walmart for $40 and it has lasted me over 2+ years with no paint or coating flaking. The inside looks a little scratched up but that's to be expected. No flaking off substance though.

I would not recommend this unless you really need Bluetooth and app connection

Feel free to look up ember mub flaking you'll see it's super common. At least it was on the Ember 2 mug I had, not sure they've fixed it in newer models.

Mine lasted about two years of daily use before it started flaking. Threw it in the trash. Wouldn't but it again for full retail, especially considering the MSRP price increase.

Anyone gets a layer of gross film on the surface of their coffee (with milk) when this cup warms the coffee for about 10 minutes? I get it and when you take a sip, the film sticks to your lips and you end up pulling off a gross layer of coffee "skin"

Mine never flaked (every day use for 2 years) but my brothers did and they also sent him a new one. Improper cleaning is the main cause of the flaking, with metal spoons the second. You have to use the brush it comes with and don't stir with a metal spoon if you use creamer.
I don't recall these coming with a brush. But I only use the soft side of the cleaning pad to wash these. About a year and a half now with no flaking. Those saying that the app sucks ain't lying.

Hmmm $10 insulated cup/mug that does the same? Or this resource wasting, eventually failing, battery operated landfiller.... 🤔

Got one of these sitting in my garage in storage right now. Cup isn't big enough for my regular serving of coffee. They're not that great, tbh.

I have experienced what you described quite regularly not with a ember mug but just a traditional insulated stainless steel mug.I did not start to see this issue until I started using lactose free milk. If I let the coffee sit without taking a sip for about 20 minutes on a fresh cup of instant coffee with lactose free milk this happens. I also use a sugar substitute so I'm not sure if it is the sugar substitute or the lactose free milk. The experience is quite gross.

I have been using these mugs for 3 years. The first cup did have flaking after 3 month of use even with soft clean. I emailed them and got replacement. I have used the second mug ever since and have no issue like the first one. I think the mug2 does not have that issue. Not sure though. Don't keep any left over coffee or tea bag in the mug that ruins your battery and surface. I have used the travel mug 2 as well and with car charging. I have no issue with travel mug 2 but the lid is kind of dumb bc it is so thin lol

It's called cream. Use low fat milk if you want less of this

If you're looking to extend the lifespan of this product, try to minimize thermal shock by letting it cool down after a hot drink before rinsing it with cold water.

Here are the links for the others on clearance and their 70% price. These have been on clearance for awhile so most stores with stock left should be at 50% and if not should be 70% soon. DO NOT use brickseek, it hasn't worked for Target in several years and just pulls data from their website. Just use the target inventory and if it doesn't let it you order for pickup despite being in stock then it's on clearance, but whether its 30,50, or 70% off you will need to see for yourself in store. Also, if you do not see it on the shelf, get them to check the back.

Couldn't agree less. I've used mine 5 days a week, multiple times a day, for the past 8 months and I'm having no issues with durability.

I know they mentioned a coating issue in earlier production, but it seems like it's been more or less resolved. Even so, I don't use metal utensils in the mug just to be safe.

Overall, at this price it's more than worth it for anyone who likes to take your time sipping on tea or coffee throughout the day.

I use a low tech solution to keep my coffee hotter longer. A stainless steel double walled mug. Just wanted to mention it for any coffee lovers who don't yet know of them.

The app for these is terrible. The cup disconnects and never will reconnect to it. Take a look at the reviews in the different app stores.
probably the only thing I don't like about this mug.
