I used it every day and the ceramic coating flakes off the inside of the mug. Technically it's safe but the cup looks awful inside and something about knowing the ceramic continues to flake off in my drink bothered me.
I stopped using mine and got a dumb version of a electric warming mug from Walmart for $40 and it has lasted me over 2+ years with no paint or coating flaking. The inside looks a little scratched up but that's to be expected. No flaking off substance though.
I would not recommend this unless you really need Bluetooth and app connection
Feel free to look up ember mub flaking you'll see it's super common. At least it was on the Ember 2 mug I had, not sure they've fixed it in newer models.

Both physically and taste-wise, reheating is not the same as maintaining a temperature. Some people don't taste the difference, others do.
Glad things work for you. Your method is not for everyone.
Will have to stop by and see if any are available. Good price, I like my 8oz but it's way too small. I finish it before it' could cold. 14oz will help but I really want super size…

But here it is a couple years later and I've been using it pretty much daily — it's right in front of me on its charging caddy right now. Whenever I'm away, I'm mildly annoyed when my coffee cools off too fast and then I realize it's because the cup wasn't keeping it warm. And I don't remember the last time I opened the app.

When brewing your coffee add some cold water or room temp water to drive the temp down before putting it in the insulated mug so it doesn't stay boiling hot for eternity. There's always a smarter way to do things. Slickdealer brain. 🤯🧠
If it takes you more than a few hours to drink a cup of coffee you've got problems. 😆
