BestBuy price matched so I ordered from them (via online chat).

They asked for my zip code, so I'm guessing that they check your local MicroCenter's inventory (?). Since I often travel for work I gave them two zip codes (no microcenter in my home area). No issue.

I had this before getting a axe-16000 from Asus. The ax89x has quirky issues with it's qos if you host stuff behind your router and other quirky issues. Also missing Merlin support and in general just not worth it. Asus would never acknowledge the problems but finally got tired of my complaints and sent me the 16000 which supported Merlin and thus had a proper qos.

Depends on your needs. The AX89X has 10Gig ethernet & sfp ports + 8x 5GHz streams which is rather unique. Most routers (including the AXE16000 mentioned up here) have no more than 4 streams per band.

I have had this router for a year and use it at 10Gbit locally with Optimum Fiber's 5 gigabit internet service. It's been fantastic for me, and I've had zero issues. I have an entire homelab behind this thing and it's been flawless from day one. It's probably the cheapest you'll find for a multigig solution if you're lucky enough to be in a multi-gig fiber area.

Yes. It has a qualcomm cpu, so no Merlin FW. That doesn't affect me in the slightest, though. Nor have I seen any QoS quirks or any other quirks for that matter. I have countless wifi clients using it. I have two 10gbit switches going out to all my gear. I regularly see 650+MB/sec on downloads to my machines that have nvme drives.

Pros: Dual 10 gig ports (one via SFP+), fast, rock solid stability (I have yet to see an updated firmware since I purchased it a year ago). Never needs rebooting. 10 gig ports can be configured as lan or wan. More than adequate processing power, even with multiple 10 gigabit clients routing through it. CHEAP!

Cons: Only wifi 6, not 6e. Besides the dual 10 gig ports, everything else is just gigabit. Qualcomm cpu, so no Merlin (not that I care).
