This is not really a deal you can get a 5000 series for the same price a few days ago. Its not bad, but certainly not slick. This is also higher TDP so maybe more power usage and a circa early 2020 processor. So right now almost a 4 year old proc?

I'd wait until BF now, sure some real deals happen.

Which deal you're referring? I did not see 5800H deal at this price or even closer. If you're referring those 5600U or 5540U based mini PCs then, it is good amount faster than them.

7730 is actually 5825U based on Zen 3 whereas 5700U is Zen 2, similar to your 4800U.

This is relatively a good deal. People are paying 170 for a beelink n100 with some generic ram and ssd. This processor geekbench almost 1.5/2x higher.

Exactly. Most of the mini PCs at this prices are 12th gen Intel Celeron N95 or similar processors with just 4 efficiency cores and no hyperthreading. If you check Cinebench R23 scores, which can actually measure long term performance using advanced algorithms, this 4800H is going to be more than 2x faster.

Its really not that bad considering AMD is still basically shipping this as the 7730u and its also the 5700u.

I'm running a 4800u mini PC and as much as I have the normal upgrade itch its still quite fast. For $190 for a barebones you're still getting a lot of mini PC. The 5600H there is an extra $40. 8 zen 2 cores is still probably better than 6 zen 3 ones, not to mention the $40.

Light titles should run okay with lower settings, League of Legends, WOW, counter strike, etc should run fine. Starfield not so much. Also get some faster ram, 3200mhz is usually ideal for mobile parts but do your own research on that.

This is $90 more for the same RAM and storage amount. The N100, while much slower, is actually better for Plex transcoding due to Quick Sync which doesn't work with AMD.

I would take this over the Beelink, but there are things to consider when picking one over the other.

No matter what, it is a better deal than the Intel N305(8 little core) now.

Im waiting for my minisforum nb6 12650h barebone to come. It was on sale on amazon a couple of days ago for 247. I wanted something with more cpu power than those n100 12th gens.
If it wasnt for quick sync i would have went with a newer ryzen mini pc.

I am not aware there is a combo port supporting both Toslink and 3.5mm headphone. Toslink port is completely different than that of a 3.4mm Jack. Can you be more clear?
