But the iPad will auto connect to your hotspot. It's seamless with no extra cost for most plans

Wasn't the 2TB version of this on sale at Woot! a bit ago for roughly the same price (give-or-take)?

I wish I had jumped on that deal.

EDIT: It was the 11" iPad Pro 2TB. The 12.9" was $999

Why not just use a MacBook Air? Much more practical and capable IMO instead of carrying around one of these with the separate keyboard, and have to deal with the tablet IOS limitations.

Cellular models unlike WiFi models have GPS, so can be used for navigation such as in private planes, etc.

Bingo! You are correct, and using GPS is a no cost flexibility. No Cell pan is required for GPS usage

It should qualify since this is a new device. Applecare can be purchased anytime before the manufactures warrenty expires, at leas that is how I understand it

MBA is a great option for most, no argument there.

For me, an iPad with a keyboard is the middle ground between when i prefer to have a larger 15 inch laptop with a full OS, and when I can manage everything on my phone.
