Do not purchase these. Your electricity bill will thank you. Single hose are not efficient.

Better than dying from heatstroke. Its almost like different people have different livings situations where something like this unit is their only available option.

Not what this is for. It's temporary. I have one for when a hurricane knocks out my power. Great deal for those who need it

Would you please suggest a dual hose unit?

Would I prefer a dual hose? Probably. But that would come at close to twice the cost of this one on sale.

If it will be something you use on a daily basis, sure, spend the extra for a dual hose. For people like me who have an older ac unit and this is merely a backup for when it dies, spending more money for a dual hose isn't really worth the extra cost.

If they want something that is cheap and works well, then just get a window unit. It might not be pretty but it's cheap and efficient.

In the room I intend to put it, I have a small room that is about 6 feet in the air where my recirculating air system is (pumping air from outside, air goes to the slab then get to the house, in counter current, air leaving the humid areas and exiting outside).

is the air from this single hose sucking air from the outside and, also pushes hot air out? If the air intake is in the front of the unit, then I can seal this using where the opening of that upper room is and connect the hose to the air exiting the home.

Then I think it would work great for me.
Thanks.

Looks exactly like a single hose version of my Hisense dual hose. https://slickdeals.net/f/16837895-299-100-off-till-8-6-hisense-smart-sacc-8-000-btu-dual-hose-portable-air-conditioner-with-heat-pump-100-off

I've used a single hose at night in my bedroom for years and it worked great. WAY cheaper than cooling the whole house down to 68F, especially since my bedroom is on the top (4th) floor and gets the afternoon sun. So it really means I'm cooling the other 1200 sq. ft. to 60F to get the bedroom to 68F.

That said, my new dual hose is more efficient and therefore cheaper to run (I just got the dual-hose Hisense for $299 at Costco last month).

If I only had the dual-hose, I'd pick this up as a backup in a heartbeat for the price.

I have 2 single hose units that run about 6-12 hours a day. Have a sunroom that was added on with no air and causes my central unit to run like crazy due to the extra heat from that room. This helps with cooling the sunroom a bit. The other unit is in my game room/office to help offset my gaming computer (aka space heater).

I originally bought them when my central went out and it was a couple days to get the part in. Decided to just keep them in place and run as needed.

Was thinking the same for here in NC
I've got an older 5k BTU unit- hate putting it in the window. Assume this is much more portable, except the not as easy to hide when not in use.

What are power requirements for this
