Wish this price was available much sooner. However, I do own this phone. In general, great phone. And you can search online for these issues, but my issues have been:
- huge battery drain if 5G is enabled; my solution is disabling 5G and I just do 4G LTE. this makes a big difference. I don't know why this has 5G if just having it enabled kills the battery. This is the case even just during idleness.
- GPS accuracy gets bad at times.. like real bad. sometimes it registers being off by a few hundred feet; this gets frustrating at times; ex: driving on the freeway.. then google maps shifts and thinks I'm on a side street off of the freeway

Great phone if you're in a location where you can shut off 5G. Otherwise, the battery drains fast.
Also, trade in values are higher on the pixel 7. Trading in an iPhone SE 2 made the pixel 7 a better deal for me.

No. Please save yourself a headache. I have been a Pixel 6a owner since its launch.

That's never happened to me... Maybe have a faulty model?

Battery drain and poor GPS signal???!! Hard pass!

I own the 6a and what you said is 100% TRUE. Google knows about it, put a temporary fix on it, and then the monthly updates back to square one for the battery drain issue. The CPU runs hot and has no hope of fixing it because it is by design, the fingerprint got a little better but is still slow and randomly not recognized, GPS signal is still randomly no signal or slow to update. So, if you buying this the battery drain is the plague of this phone.

Not a good phone. Went from a 3A to this a while ago and this is a step back. So many annoying little issues with basic use that just add up. Customer service is also lacking.

Can confirm I have similar issues. Haven't tested disabling 5G to see if that helps with battery drain but can confirm the GPS accuracy issue. Also, the fingerprint scanner just isn't good. I've also had to disable the double tap to wake feature since I constantly was finding the screen turning on in my pocket (something I've never had an issue with on other phones)

The device, overall, is a very snappy performer, the camera is best in class and the software optimization is miles ahead of my LG G8 so I have less issues with apps closing in the background or receiving notifications, however the issues it does have hold the experience back. At the same time, the device is only $250 so I guess you have to take that into account as well. I plan on selling several of my phones to upgrade to something more premium.

This was In response to matrix5k's question about whether it was a worthy upgrade from a 4a 5g. I was wondering the same thing. It doesn't sound like a significant upgrade, so I''m staying with my trusty 4a 5g for now.

My Pixel 7 took an accidental ocean bath and died, so I replaced it with a 6a to get me by until the 8. I was pleasantly suprised with how well it performs. I am currently running the Android 14 beta and have no real issues. People like to crack jokes but in reality the PIxel 6a won MKBHD's blind smart phone camera test overall with thousands of people voting with multiple flagships in the mix. Best budget phone by a mile!

Not a good idea. It will actually cost you more in store because they tack on multiple fees and taxes.

I'm pretty critical of my 6a and when I first got it, fingerprint was garbage. After the last 2 updates it has gotten considerably better. Haven't noticed the processor running hot at all during streaming or normal work

Depends. 6a is a bit faster and has a bigger screen with better camera. If you like the size of the 4a then keep it. That size was great
