Do the trade in phones have to be unlocked? Eg can I trade in Verizon locked phones to ATT
I am curious as well..

Also, what do they mean by this, in the trade in conditions?? Will this impact the trade in if I buy a phone off someone to trade it in?

"Phone number entered on the trade-in should match the phone number of device purchased. If different number is entered it could impact promotion eligibility"

Quick question, so if you are an existing ATT customer that's currently on unlimited plan (paying less than $75/per line), are you still eligible for this offer to upgrade without changing the monthly per line?

In my experience, and back from working for ATT, the unlock status is irrelevant. Answer the trade in questions appropriately for the condition, and choose the right device/carrier you are trading in.

The phone number you enter in for the device you are trading in needs to match the phone number that you are either upgrading or new line of service.

The most hesitant issue I have with this deal is it's through a 3rd party… and from personal experience, I can attest that if your trade in device is "lost" in transit, not checked in accordingly, or an issue with it; you will have lose your mind trying to get it resolved.

Take pictures of your shipment of the trade in device and ensure you take photo/note of the tracking info and label.

Trading in devices is always best practice done in store- but obviously, as in this promotion, sometimes that's not the best deal option.

If I already upgraded 4 lines through AT&T last week, any way to get the Costco deal applied retroactively? Looks like the same basic deal, but of course as a member I'd like the Costco GCs.
You can't. They said you need to cancel, and wait 72 hours before ordering again through Costco. The 72 hours is to clear your phone so it's in "upgradable" status again.

Yes, if you have an available upgrade on any line

All unlimited plans qualify

So if buying an eligible phone to trade in (S20 has been mentioned), how does this work? Do you need to activate the trade-in phone on the AT&T account against the number you want to upgrade, and then order the iPhone 15? Or are you saying you just enter the phone number for the line you want to upgrade but the trade-in doesn't need to be activated on that line?

From previous experiences and also from working with the company, the trade in device didn't need to be activate (ed) on your account. The number entered during the trade in and upgrade
Flow needed to match.

If you purchase the phone elsewhere and don't activate it, you do run the risk of that device either being activation locked, or reported lost/stolen. And that could hinder or negate your trade in estimated value.

Does anyone know a way to do more than 5 lines? I have 5 phones and an Apple Watch but ATT site is limiting to 5 total devices. Or could I process two orders after my initial order goes through?

I read somewhere that the ATT iPhone cannot be used in Europe? Is this correct? Currently have a Verizon iPhone and had no issues using it all over Europe. My daughter will be moving to London so I'm not sure if it's worth her getting this or not. Thanks!!

36 months? That's getting ridiculous. The phone companies are just trying to get everyone committed to 36 months of over-priced bills.

How long until we get 48 month contracts?

I give it 4 more years until it's the norm. Then each carrier is going to have "we will pay off your phone!" Promotions to get you to switch once everyone is locked into 4 year contracts.

Phone company is not forcing you into contact. You want no contract buy the phone out right.
