Has anyone tried the Costco t-mobile deal? Website says $150 Costco gc + $250 prepaid visa with port in im assuming for each line. Plus their trade in value for an iPhone 4 pro is $1000 vs only $830 at AT&T. I have 4 AT&T lines/iPhone 12 pros so that's $1600 in Costco gc/visa plus $4000 trade in value… seems pretty good if not better than just sticking with AT&T to upgrade. Thoughts?
Is this with the Go5G plan?
More expensive monthly plan than their magenta plans.

I'm on the Tmo One Plan with the Plus promo. Most of my lines are under the One Plan. Too bad Tmo aren't running any iPhone promos on the One plan. There's no way I'll upgrade to any other plans since I'm paying between $65-$76/month (depending on kickback) for ten unlimited everything lines on the One plan.

Here's hoping they'll have something for the non-Go5G customers soon.

an agent just mentioned to me that I could pay it off (have it unlocked) and not do any changes and I would still be getting the discounts.
I've been told by att agents that that's wrong (when I wanted my phone paid off to be unlocked)

You can do the trade in inside an ATT store. Don't send it via mail. The credit will instantly be applied to your account. I've done this at least 3 times over the past years, never an issue.

This is great advice!

They lost both my tradeins for $800 each when getting two 13 pros. I had tracking proof that they received both. For months they kept telling me they confirmed the tracking information and that I should see the credit next month.

6 months later: Still no credit. Called. spent another 2 hours re-explaining everything. They checked the tracking and since USPS recycles tracking numbers, it now showed different tracking information.
I had screenshots they had no way of getting them. Support can't receive mail, I tried giving them a t-url to onedrive, but they still couldn't access. Unbelievable.
They eventually verified that the IMEI was in their possession, and escalated that info. The tradein dept kept denying due to the bad tracking info.
Luckily I had the old boxes with the IMEI number(s). They couldn't look those up for phones that had been on their network for years. Again, unbelievable.

I spent a total of 12 hours on the phone with them across 6+ calls. I finally got one agent that was determined and actually called me back and followed up.
Now, 2 years later, they finally added the credit. I don't know if any deal was worth the frustration I went thru.

If anyone really wants this deal, trade in the device in the store.

i paid my iphone 13 pro off in June to get it unlocked and travel overseas, i still have rolling credit 23/36 applied each month. there were many posts on ATT forum about getting it unlocked with rolling credit.

the question is, if i trade in on this deal. will i get 2 rolling credits? anyone try it?

Have you also processed the upgrade or new line either at the ATT Store or through ATT.COM?

Id be curious to see this actually happen when using a 3rd party to upgrade like Costco, Sams Club, Walmart, etc.

I've always done it thru att.com, but the costco portal is hosted on att.com not some third party. In fact I am going to return my pre order which arrives tomorrow and order thru the Costco portal on att.com. The trade in deal is separate from the costco promos, they are stackable. Generally those trade in deals are for everyone that's what they advertise. Anything else Is a promo from point of sale. Go to an att corporate store to do the trade in and make sure the trade in is counted against the line you are upgrading.

So this is interesting. The agent at costco I talked to said you could not do this. This would be game changing because I can't be stuck on the same phone for 3 years. I already switched to ATT and I'm going to transfer 4 lines to them.

It would make sense that you can pay the phone off and then. continue getting the credits as long as you keep the line active

How would you be able to have both the monthly credits which is based on the installment contract and have the phone paid off I wonder?? If it's paid off there is no installment in place anymore I would think.

Is a trade-in required for new customers or just upgrades?
