I have a Home Depot version that's very similar, put up in 2015, still going strong. Not sure if same, but my posts were hollow, and I put 75 pounds of pea gravel in each post before sealing the top, it's not going anywhere.

Salt water will still eat through galvanized eventually. You want stainless steel if you're gonna be a little bougie. For ultimate corrosion resistance you should get one made of pure gold. You could go the cheap option for rust resistance and gold plate this one. Or if you're okay replacing a $500 gazebo every 10 years or making sure to keep the surface painted if it chips this is the most economical with no mods.
Can I just buy enough flexseal to coat the entire thing? Or would roofing tar be a more economical option?

Anyone know how long these things last, realistically? Tempted to get one to put deep into my property, put a little firepit in the middle and enjoy nature without getting devoured by skeeters. But I don't want to get something that'll be disposable after a couple seasons.
As long as the metal lasts (rust). I have this gazebo in the 8x8 version, you really need to seal all the screws with flex seal spray, that's what I recommend. Because it drips rust water in a few areas if they aren't water sealed from the top.

Can this free-stand in a driveway to act as a sort of "carport" for a scooter?

Maybe if you fill the posts with pea gravel?
But I won't trust it. First good windstorm would probably send it flying.
Can you attach it to the driveway? Concrete piers should solve your problem.

Just in to say that a firepit will kick out sparks, which won't won't play nice with the screening. You'll end up melting holes in them (if not going up in flames) eventually no matter how careful you try to be.

Your intended usage aside, I had one from Target with similar hollow metal posts, and there were 4 holes in each pillar for bolting it down. Had it 16 years before we sold the house. I assume it's still there.

They have paint for undercarriage of cars and trucks I forget the name of it but it is fantastic and it stops rust. Just make sure when you apply it the surface is dry because it will seal it That's what I did for my pergola
