I have a Home Depot version that's very similar, put up in 2015, still going strong. Not sure if same, but my posts were hollow, and I put 75 pounds of pea gravel in each post before sealing the top, it's not going anywhere.

This looks like an almost identical build to the 12x10 Hampton bay gazebo from last month.

Anyone know how long these things last, realistically? Tempted to get one to put deep into my property, put a little firepit in the middle and enjoy nature without getting devoured by skeeters. But I don't want to get something that'll be disposable after a couple seasons.

Did you use any fire pit under the gazebo? Or any electric fan, like 30ish inch? Thanks

If this is in direct sunlight it's going to feel like the surface of the sun underneath it with that black roof.

Not true. It shades just fine and is cool underneath directly in the sun.

I put in an outdoor allen&roth fan hanging from the top, but only needed if you want some air flow.

Would not recommend a firepit because there is not enough ventilation, but perfectly fine for a winter hot tub.

I live in Virginia and in summer time I hang up outdoor sunbrella curtains on 2 sides to provide shade, and winter time I surround it in heavy duty tarps for a inflatable hot tub. Also use the outdoor fan in the winter to suck out the steam from the hot tub. Holds up in some snow just fine, not sure about Buffalo type snow. I paid $1100 for the 10 x 10 version I got, very similar to this, best investment I ever made, 500 is a steal.

Hi! Great stuff here. Will it withstand snow on the roof as well? I am in CT and wouldn't look forward to taking this roof down every season lol

It is ABSOLUTELY true. I have a black hardtop gazebo in southern california. It radiates heat VERY badly underneath. So much so that I put in a giant outdoor ceiling fan and insulation.

Hardtops without the little opening in the middle like the aluminum one at costco are even worse.

Keep in mind, this thing is just powder coated steel. It will rust. If I could go back in time, I would have done more research to make sure I got a galvanized steel version.

Salt water will still eat through galvanized eventually. You want stainless steel if you're gonna be a little bougie. For ultimate corrosion resistance you should get one made of pure gold. You could go the cheap option for rust resistance and gold plate this one. Or if you're okay replacing a $500 gazebo every 10 years or making sure to keep the surface painted if it chips this is the most economical with no mods.
