This is becoming so prevalent and widespread that I believe it won't be long before Samsung revamps their trade in policy subsequently addressing this issue and effing it up for the rest of us..
S23 ultra 256GB has 8GB ram.
S23 ultra 512GbB has 12GB ram.
His earlier trade in (without the ram upgrade) downsized ram. This deal matches ram with bigger storage. Honestly, I think this deal is great for someone who has s22 ultra 128gb. Mine is s22 ultra 256gb so I am still on the fence, considering mine still runs like new, look like new and there is no much difference between 22/23.
You listening samsung?

Also, at about $300 for this 23U, we might be adding some trade in value for S24U with possible breakthrough enhancements. S22U might start losing substantial value in trade in then
sold my s22(reg) for 350$
The battery lasts at least 2x as long.. (of course battery is bigger but so is screen etc)
I routinely have went 3 workdays between charging or about 60 hours.
and that with listening to music for 6 or 8 hours.
I was thinking about doing the 600$ google fi s23 ultra deal for the wife.. but its now the 256GB model.. so probably will wait on the s24 ultra.

Subtotal $284.99
Estimated tax $118.92
Total $403.91
Btw: there is barely any difference between s22u and s23u.
So won't spend $400 for an 'upgrade'.

Next year when trading for s24ultra, s23ultra will be worth only $200 more. So assuming you are trading in for s24ultra, then your net loss is $100.
However, for $100 you gain a year of better battery and battery, I would say go for it.

Aside from declining battery life (from inferior base battery life of the s22u), I'll gain much better performance due to new processor as well as other differences.
Also, if you are ordering this phone, consider stacking these other deals:
1) Add buds 2 pro for $50. It's worth $150 and is one of the best wireless Earbuds on the market (I have one and it stands out among my 10+ earphones, rivaling wired audiophile IEMs).
2) Add tab s9u for $4 if you have tab s8u to trade. This allows you to add another buds 2 pro for $50.
3) Add galaxy watch 6 for $100 ($110 for 43mm). When doing this, do the customize option to add the leather hybrid band ($80 value) for free! I missed this one. Doh!
If you can get all these deals to stack, congratulations!
If ppl find more things to stack, please chime in.
I saw Tmobile version has a free S23U case but I couldn't get it to work with the $4 tablet deal. Tmobile version is gone now anyhow.
Why were the TIV values so low for the S22 phones when this one released? It could be due to the poor battery life and if the TIV was better, they could have had too many used S22's on their hands. Just IMO.
