I did this deal with rp on 14 max. Over 2 months waiting for stock. By that time visible bf deal was better. Cancel the "preorder" and got visible

In your account, when you switch to 360 plan, make sure the phone's IMEI shows up as the phone you're using. For some reason, it didn't show up for my wife. When I went to request an unlock after a year, even though we were customers for a year, and I showed receipt that I bought the phone one year ago, they kept saying it wasn't in service for a year because it wasn't showing up on any account. It was a hassle and I kept having to go back and forth. They finally did unlock it, but it took a bunch of time. I usually request unlock, sell the old, buy the new, but it is turning into more hassle than it's worth.

ouch, didn't know that when i placed the order. guess i'll wait until like early october and re-evaluate if I can cancel order. been a red pocket customer for a year now, no issues, but that would stink waiting months for phone, then have to wait longer to unlock, etc

I think it would be easier and safer not to do the ebay plans, and just switch to the annual plan directly with redpocket to avoid this kind of thing. It's slightly more expensive but still very reasonable.

He's talking about buying a redpocket plan off ebay. As vmv890's post illustrates, this is a little risky. But after you get the rebate, you can switch to the annual plan with redpocket instead. It's still a great deal and you'll get the phone unlocked easily after 12 months.

I did this deal last year and shipped directly on 09/15, the release date. I received it a few days later from Fedex. This thread reminds me I need to request an unlock in a week or so.

Look under the iPhone color options and you should see "Existing Customer" to the right of the default "New Customer" button which is highlighted in red. When you click on"Existing Customer" you'll be prompted to log into your account.

If you are already logged into your RedPocket account, look under the iPhone color options and you should see "Upgrade device" to the right of the default "Add a line". Click on "Upgrade device" and there should be a drop-down where you select the qualifying existing line.
