Slightly better version of Walmart but, as soon as you deal with their customer service you would feel you're in Walmart.

They are saying it's going to be $19.99 for a 1 year membership (regular not Plus) and on top of that you get $10 off your first in-store purchase which effectively makes it $9.99 for the 1 year membership (regular not Plus).

Just use another email address. I cycle between two emails and just use the app. After 6 months, you're considered a new member
I agree you can just use a different email

I have to defend Sams club here. I think Sams club came a long way and offers products that as good as Costco's often at cheaper (especially produce) and "Scan and Go"alone worth shopping there over Costco never ending lines even with newly added self check out. May be it's regional but I don't have problem with customer service at either two Sams club I go to (one of them is definitely better though). My only wish they would sell Top Tier gas like Costco but alas can't have everything.
Those who wonder you can keep switching between new memberships at Sams. But I gave up on it after I switched to Plus membership it gives me enough cash back to pay membership fee every year.
Well said. Costco should not be pushing self checkout. The items they sell in bulk are already a pain in the ... to load and unload during a regular trip, now with an added benefit of having to scan them one by one on your own annnnd load them into that 5 by 5 foot metallic please place your scanned item here table. 0 added value to most Costco shoppers. Costco if youre reading this I hope more people drop your membership for this stupidity, and crappy app that's just a glorified web browser for your half assed website.

Holidays are coming... Sam's will be adding give aways and credit on purchases making it a money maker... They have to, otherwise there's ZERO reason to join...Walmart extremely identical and Costco light years ahead of them - there's 10 galaxies between Sam's club and Costco

Shopping at Sam's is like shopping at Walmart, not for me
Do you go out of your way and take the time to post a comment in response to every post that you see on here, which you don't plan to use?

I'm genuinely curious, what was the point of posting your comment? Is this some sort of new virtue signal?

Who actual goes to these packed stores. Instacart with Costco membership, can't beat that convenience, gas and time savings.
You pay more than twice in fees than you would gas. Pretty sure you're just lazy

Everybody mentions scan and go. Well if you have a BJ's wholesale nearby they have it too. That's are primary (have Costco thru my mother) and though certain things better at Costco, BJ's is solid and more sane on sizing for a lot of things.

I've done Sam's before and was meh . But might do again see if things improved at one close to me

Agree, Sams is way ahead in terms of scan & go, instore pickup etc while Costco recently
introduced self checkout and still have reps standing by each kiosk to assist members.
Not sure about the rational there.

Where Costco is better is, in finding those products hyped up by social media.
By assist you mean check your I.D. to make sure you're really you? Costco can suck it. Once a store starts treating me like a criminal I'm done. I have always preferred Sam's Club myself and the scan and go works so well. Scan as you go and pay and get a QR scanned at the door. It's much quicker than Costco and the products are similar and Sam's typically is cheaper.

Right. Costco stores in CA resemble Asian fish markets !

Any reason to get Sam's club if I have a Costco closer?
