Did I not say that I saw both sides to this up front? I don't disagree with what you just said, but I *DO* disagree that we are "doomed" just because some people have experiences in their lives that make them tend not to appreciate the attitudes potentially hidden behind such "jokes." Too often (especially in the political environment of recent years) offensive things are said and done to intentionally "troll," and then just excused as a "joke" when someone is called out on it. Sometimes it really is just a joke, but all too often it hides a deeper meaning or implication. Especially in today's world, a little appreciation and sensitivity for that fact can go a long way.

Our society is certainly doomed when a tools deal thread has 14 posts and only 2 is about the tools...

Anyone know if this kneeling pad is comfortable? Have the ones from harbor freight and they're bit tough

A lot softer and larger compared to the HF pad. Easy return if you don't like it.

I bought the pad at Xmas, and it's great. The guys at work steal it all the time.

It's amazing that you're getting thumbs downed on an apparent joke. Our society is doomed.

I see both sides of this, but since you don't know who's going to see such a comment sometimes a little sensitivity and self-censoring is warranted. Women have been treated as subservient second-class citizens throughout history, and although that's slowly changing it's still a major issue in much of the world today. Crude jokes on a public forum like this are bound to experience some (not entirely unjustified) pushback.

You do think too much. A wife giving oral isn't subservient. the same goes for a man reciprocating for his wife. If anything, the guy was thinking about his wife's comfort above all else. It was a kind gesture. Not everything has to be about feminism and other things that shall not be mentioned.

I prefer a world where people are blunt and say what they believe and feel. Rather than a world where people keep quiet because it might offend someone else. That makes it easier to spot the racists, and other types I may not want to keep company with. With certain people these days, there isn't much they aren't offended by.

I pretty much agree with that - just so long as those who want others to listen to them are also willing to listen to others and try to work together for a common understanding and good. There's a good reason for some to be offended, but I also agree that the concept can be abused by those looking for attention. Remember that there is likely a reason that they're looking for attention, though - even if they're going about it the wrong way (which is hardly limited to those overplaying the sensitivity card - think those with excessively loud car stereos or exhaust systems, for example).
