For those of you who don't know what this is:

This is a small travel router that connects to an ethernet port of an existing network, OR can be connected to an existing Wi-Fi network and used to create your own personal Wi-Fi network but this router uses a VPN to mask your traffic when used.

It can also be used on Visible to share a phone connection with multiple devices but you will be required to use a TTL hack to make it work.

There are a few ways, the one I use is:
1. Connect phone/laptop to captive login wifi.
2. Connect GL.iNet to power
3. Log in to GL.iNet web interace
4. Change GL.iNet router MAC address to the same as that of your phone/laptop.
5. Connect GL.Inet to hotel WiFi, and it'll work.

A big use for this is also when you have a hotel that charges for, and limits the number of devices that connect to wifi. This isn't as common in the US anymore, but still common internationally. Also, if you have a ton of electronics with you, having this would save you from having to reconfigure each device for the new SSID.

Side note, I have this and it works great, the VPN works well too.

Something is wrong. I ran mine for 5 days straight at my hotel in Mexcio City this week. No issues. Partially vents from bottom so better put it on hard surface.

Most new openwrt applications need run v20 or above. also Opal's the CPU SF19A28 architecture is not supported in any other version if you don't understand what it is. that is not for you, you can stay in v18 forever

Bought this router back in March of this year for $110. I use it as my main router at my 1200 sqft 2 story home. My internet plan is 300 Mbps down and this router is able to hit that max number. Runs at avg 68C temp with no issues.

One thing people haven't mentioned yet either is this router has Adguard home preinstalled, essentially the same thing as pihole.

We are using it in Cuernavaca full-time, 24/7/365 without a problem. Just ordered another Brume 2 so I can setup another VPN server back stateside because the Slate AX is no longer on sale. Frown
