For those of you who don't know what this is:

This is a small travel router that connects to an ethernet port of an existing network, OR can be connected to an existing Wi-Fi network and used to create your own personal Wi-Fi network but this router uses a VPN to mask your traffic when used.

It can also be used on Visible to share a phone connection with multiple devices but you will be required to use a TTL hack to make it work.
There are a few ways, the one I use is:
1. Connect phone/laptop to captive login wifi.
2. Connect GL.iNet to power
3. Log in to GL.iNet web interace
4. Change GL.iNet router MAC address to the same as that of your phone/laptop.
5. Connect GL.Inet to hotel WiFi, and it'll work.
A big use for this is also when you have a hotel that charges for, and limits the number of devices that connect to wifi. This isn't as common in the US anymore, but still common internationally. Also, if you have a ton of electronics with you, having this would save you from having to reconfigure each device for the new SSID.

Side note, I have this and it works great, the VPN works well too.

How do you use this to log into the hotel Wi-Fi networks that require the captive login page where you put in your name and room number? Do you have to connect to a laptop or is there an app that you can enter that information into?

How do I connect this to the internet? Seems to have no coax port.
It's not a modem.

Either by an Ethernet cable or a WiFi connection. This is a router so it shouldn't have a coax cable. You need to connect to an existing network.

What were your vpn speeds? I got the cheaper model and the speeds were like 6mbps and the manufacturer said that was to be expected because it's got a weak processor.

I've been torn between this and the A1300 Slate Plus for similar money. This one is significantly faster, but lacks EAP. Plus it has a fan, versus the fanless Slate Plus.

Thank you. I was trying to figure out what the point of having this was. In my earlier travels I encountered ethernet ports in many hotels, but rarely of late, so didn't see much point in adding another wifi network to an existing (hotel) network for a 10x10 room. Having the built-in VPN seems like the biggest benefit.
