Chase Freedom cardholders - 2023 Q4 5% bonus category includes Wholesale stores, such as Costco! Better than the usual 2% with Citi Costco.

Don't forget to activate the bonus, which is valid between October 1 - December 31.

Do yourself a favor and grab all the St Michel La Grande Galette French Butter Cookies you can, they are the real deal. They used to come in a cookie tin instead of a cardboard box but the cookie is the same.

Here's an article about it. Not sure whether it was enforced all over the country or only certain locations.

The only references I can find to that are from 3 years ago and sporadic. I've been to Costcos all over the country (and international) and never seen such a sign or been asked to scan my card to buy anything.

I've been buying their Kirkland brand which says it's from NZ; it's a lot cheaper than KerryGold, and seems to be the same (note that the difference is butter fat content vs. regular butter)

Can anyone comment on tires? I see $100 off and no installation. I am thinking to become a member just for that
Seems to be YMMV.

I've bought 2 sets of tires @ Costco and they wound up being the best overall deal considering I get 2+2% back. Service has been fine, I always make appointments and it's quick. Generally better than our regional places. That said it seems that there is high variability in this, likely on region/urban/etc.

I just did Costco again and have a plus membership at Sam's. I Sam's wins hands down. Costco you have to wait in line to put your stuff on a large scale. Sam's scan and go. I and out in 10 minutes. Also have noticed that Costco instant savings they raise the price. Then put it on a deal. It usually matches Sam's regular price.
All of this is YMMV.

Around here, there are only 2 Sams in the entire state, the nearest is about a 20 min drive from my home and the other an hour away. Meanwhile I literally drive by BJ's and Costco on my way to work and there are several of each in the state.

You're right though, Costco must purposefully be delaying online shopping as even BJ's (a company 1/10th the size of Costco) allows members to see in-club pricing, has curbside/instore pickup and has ExpressPay (scan as you go and walk out). It's not for lack of funds it's for lack of want.

One of Costco's big schticks is getting you in the club to wander around and buy stuff. That's also supposedly why they constantly move things around, basically to keep you hunting. There might be something said for all this, but I will say that I've picked BJ's over Costco (member of both) for some items because they have curbside or because I can see their pricing in the app. I'm a parent with a full time job I don't have time to go to several stores to price shop every week.

The problem by me is both Sam's carry trash.. We shop at Costco due to the large amount of organic and gluten free items.. Sam's by me carries almost nothing organic nor gluten free. Its the same crap as the grocery store. There are some Sam's that do try and compete with Costco on that level but not the ones by me. BJ's you do need to be careful with as even though the same item is "cheaper" i have noticed a small qty.

I was a Sam's member years ago, then switched to BJ's when we moved. Recently got a Costco membership (2 years ago) and now have BJ's and Costco, so I can't comment on Sam's products vs either. That said I do seem to notice that Costco carries more non-food items, more organic/frilly crap (that I don't care about like cage free and all that nonsense), more keto stuff, more "take and bake" type items than BJ's, but BJ's can often be cheaper especially with coupons, and as I mentioned you can see BJ's store pricing in the app, do curbside/instore pickup, and they have express pay, none of which Costco does.

Purchased the 75" TV and already cancelled the order. Going to get the 85" for $200 more. The lowest the X90CL 85" has ever been was $2398.
