Tempting, but prior deals on the 16 oz Funtainer were under $11 in July and under $9 in April.

Good luck!

I think you're referencing the smaller 12 oz models(?). I'd note that I reuse those straw bottle lids from the 12oz models on the 16 oz models (which normally come with the pour lids). I have had to build my own internal (longer) straw. Otherwise this was done to minimize spills and, as you suggest, keep them school friendly.

The integral handle lids only appear to remain current with the plastic (Tritan) Funtainer models.

The silicone component does require replacement over time and are reasonably priced, but due to the issue you've described I've also generally defaulted to developing a positioning system within a given bag/backpack to ensure vertical positioning. Ultimately I still consider the modular, serviceable, and relatively durable and easy to clean design superior to many of the alternatives.

Good luck!
Jon

you'll occasionally find the on sale about $10 on the straw ones, I'm not sure about these spout ones. Our daughter's school prefers them to have straw ones to minimize spills so we have 4 bottles in various designs and based on the design prices varies. Some designs have a much weaker arc handle that's flush with the bottle top but can break-off easier than the more sturdy handle design. sadly over time they are no leak-proof when put in side-ways full of water.

ooops you're right, I've heard there were older but discontinued 16oz models with straw as well a few years ago. I have a 3rd party bottle for myself I think it's 18 or 20oz.

Labels are there for Legal purposes. Some smart person will pour their McDonald's hot coffee into it, then try to pour it into their mouth and burn their face.
Ambulance chasing lawyer can do a 2 for 1 deal.

My kids destroys water bottles at school/daycare. They have went through several brand and types. Some were polymer, some were metal. All retired due to injuries sustained. But these Thermos model are still alive and kicking after more than a year of use. That, is impressive. Furthermore, I like how they are easy to clean. Highly recommended if any of you have young kids.

Agreed. After going through every type of water bottle and canteen on the market, these are best. No straw to grow mildew, dishwasher safe, virtually indestructible.

Unless you're a brand snob, $10 will get you a pick of insulated bottles in various sizes any day of the week at TJ Maxx or Marshall's .

Costco is discontinuing two products:
50 oz Cold1 Mug for $8
Set of two ThermoFlask 16 oz for $10

I bought all of it on the shelves as gift for the holiday. If you can find it at your local Costco it's way better deal. These keep cold drink very good especially for the giant mug one. Still have little ice left after 24 hrs.

This is my favorite for kids, the straw version for younger one. They are super durable, the one i bought 4 years ago still looks almost like new.
