This may be YMMV, but cheaper if you do it piecemeal through Bedbathandbeyond.com (now owned by Overstock). For example, I just added these two to my cart and the site offered me a 12% off coupon:

Toto Drake Round Universal Height, $127.58 (bowl only, you decide which bowl you want: tall/round, tall/elongated, or standard/elongated): https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/...:CartItems
Toto Drake 1.6gpf tank only, $105.09: https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/...:CartItems

-12% coupon: $204.75 plus tax (YMMV, otherwise $232.67), free shipping. Fulfilled by Build.com, which is Ferguson's website (another reputable retailer)

And here's the tall+elongated bowl, if you prefer that. Looks like it's about $20 more expensive, but still a bit less than Amazon with the coupon: https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/...:CartItems

This is how I got mine last month, and you may get even better coupons.

Edit: just played around on the site and got offered a 17% coupon, so the total with the round bowl is $193.12+tax. Elongated is $224.84.

I bought this toilet for the toto bidet I bought along with auto flush. It has been a year and it's a dream. No clogs and the toilet is always clean, just light cleaning every few months. I am very happy with the purchase and this is a great deal that you can add a bidet to or keep it as is.

The 1.28 and 1.6 use the exact same bowl, you just choose round vs elongated. But yes, the 1.28 has a smaller water spot.
Any way for me to confirm this? Was just about to order from BBB but the bowl model number shows it's the 1.28gpf. I want to order the 1.6 tank but want the correct bowl to go with it.

Sounds like a challenge
Funny cuz I said the same thing when I got it. And honestly this thing is a champ. Not a single clog and we have put this thing to the test. I keep saying "for sure this time it's not going down." And it does. Worth every penny.

I know I asked someone else, but how can I confirm the bowl is the correct.one for the 1.6 tank? The one linked in your post, the model number shows it's 1.28 when you Google it.

Also, what are the odds that the 1.6 actually ships to NJ through BBB (fulfilled.by build.com)? when I add the items on build.com it says they cannot ship to NJ. but on BBB I can place the order, but no idea if it will ship. damn those politicians.

Yup, the CA legislators banned these shipping here, no surprise
Max allowed in CA is 1.28gpf. That version also shows that it cannot be shipped to CA. But that is Amazon's fault. Build.com has it ready to ship.

Toto's model numbers can be decoded: 775CEFG, 776CSG, etc.

775=round bowl
776=long bowl

E (eco, 1.28 gallons) vs S (standard, 1.6)
F=taller version ("Universal height" in Toto terminology)
G=glazed

There's no such thing as an "S" bowl, they're all labeled as "E" and paired with a standard-or-eco tank. Confirmed firsthand when I installed two S tanks on E bowls myself at home last month. (I believe it's actually the same tank, and only the valve is different. Don't quote me.)

No comment on NJ. (I got out. Big Grin) Absolute worst case, maybe drive across the bridge to a New York or Pennsylvania Ferguson (owner of Build.com) location and pick it up in person? Or ship to a local friend in one of those states?

Professional toilet clogger here. I've had this for about 8 years and I'd say I clog it an average of once per year. That's likely the best performance among consumer models. Some of the commercial models that sound like a jet engine are probably better, but this one does really well.

Thanks for that, and yeah I could easily go to NY to get it if possible.

For anyone in California wanting the 1.6 version of this toilet, Home Essentials Direct has them in stock in the LA area, and they will ship to your CA address. I just bought 3 a couple months ago and they gladly shipped them to my house in LA. Don't tell the toilet police.

Can't say that I've had to use a plunger at all in about 6 yrs but surely doesn't stay clean. The way the rim is designed, i have constant mildew build up even with tank tablet things. Not the cheap ones either. I quick spray of bleach water does the trick for the shower and toilet my wife doesn't like to clean.

Why can we not get the toto toilets from Japan? When I first visited Japan in 2010 I thought it was a new invention to have a sink on the tank.... but they have been doing it since at least the 1960's! Why can this not happen here? It makes a ton of sense, you wash your hands after using the toilet, why not use that water that is going to be flushed anyways?
A sink on the tank? You are just asking for an upper decker.

I've had this for 2 yrs now. Inner bowl developed a crack. But it was replaced by toto. Other than that, no complaints

Is this the one they say can't be clogged?
Oh, I've clogged one already. But I clog everything eventually, I eat right and get tons of vegetables and fiber, yet my doctor says it's normal for my body. It's a tad embarrassing, though I'm trying to get past it and own up to it.
