There isn't anything new from 2020 on, but it's a good sign that Vudu hasn't forgotten about their D2D service, so it might be getting even more updates later this year or next.

Vudu 4K is horrible? Please explain...
Do you have any link that supports this statement? I googled it and couldn't find anything that had hard data on bitrates...
I also think Apple has the best compression codec (probably proprietary like Vudu's HDX). I never have issues with pixelization on Apple TV. Nothing wrong with Vudu. The only service I have issues with is Google/Youtube which doesn't give me anything higher than 720p on my Roku TV, even for 4Ks I own.
